Under Windows DHCP server configuration and management
What is DHCP
DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) is a simplified TCP / IP standard protocol of the host IP address allocation management.
Use it to assign dynamic IP addresses to network clients and perform other related network environment configuration tasks such as DNS, Gateway and other settings.
The role of DHCP services
(1) reduce the burden on the administrator to manage IP addresses, greatly reduces the time to configure or reconfigure the network station takes, achieve the most efficient use of limited IP address.
(2) avoid errors due to manually set IP addresses and subnet masks generated.
(3) avoid assigning an IP address to multiple computers, in order to address problems caused by the conflict.
