Wine 6.0-RC6 released, the last release candidate

Wine 6.0-RC6 has been released. Wine (Wine Is Not an Emulator) is a compatibility layer that can run Windows applications on a variety of POSIX-compatible operating systems (such as Linux, macOS, and BSD). It does not imitate the internal Windows logic like a virtual machine or emulator, but translates Windows API calls into dynamic POSIX calls, eliminating the memory usage of performance and other behaviors, allowing you to cleanly integrate Windows applications to the desktop.

This version is a bug fix version and the last release candidate before the 6.0 release. The update content is as follows:

  • The mouse does not work in the open file dialog
  • Wine does not display any windows (on headless systems)
  • Kontakt (Native Instruments) is corrupted during runtime
  • Delphi applications no longer display their main window in the WM taskbar
  • If LC_LANG/LC_ALL is set to JA_JP, World of Tanks cannot be started
  • Unless you have the "Input Monitoring" permission, HID will not work on macOS Catalina and Big Sur.
  • Commandos 2: Men of Courage hangs after launch
  • When running SteelSeries Engine client, wiseserver crashes.
  • CDB (part of Windows debugging tools) cannot resume debugging after entry point break (continue debug event: "DBG_EXCEPTION_HANDLED" must be regarded as an alias of "DBG_CONTINUE")
  • The icon has a non-transparent background in HxD
