The Matter interconnection protocol not only provides unified standards and interoperability for global smart home devices, but also ensures device security, reliability and ease of use. With popular ecosystems such as Amazon Alexa, Apple Home, and Google Home becoming compatible with Matter, more and more device manufacturers are adopting the Matter protocol to develop smart home devices.
Espressif Technology (688018.SH) announced that ESP RainMaker now supports Matter Fabric, expanding an ideal Matter ecological construction solution for Espressif Matter solutions . This is the industry's first Matter ecological solution that can completely build its own brand, providing customers with more choices and flexibility.
Matter Fabric is a local private virtual network that enables Matter devices, Matter administrators and Matter controllers to communicate with each other across the physical network in the home based on different communication protocols such as Wi-Fi, Thread and Ethernet. ESP RainMaker's support for Matter Fabric can help customers save investment in infrastructure resources when integrating cloud and Matter, and quickly build their own brand of Matter ecology and application solutions.
Through ESP RainMaker's customized mobile APP, customers can easily connect Matter devices to the network and perform local control, so as to manage their own devices and third-party devices in a unified manner. ESP RainMaker's mobile APP can also bind devices from different manufacturers (Binding), so that the devices can interact directly through the local network. Once set up in the APP, the communication between the devices will not require the help of the cloud or mobile APP.
The solution also supports a special class of devices called "Matter controllers". It can discover and control all of the user's devices, even without the user's device binding through the mobile APP. The Matter controller can be any device in the home, and can be used as a smart home control center to realize local or remote control of other Matter devices through voice, touch panel or mobile phone APP.
It is worth mentioning that the ESP RainMaker platform also supports device data synchronization in the cloud, so that multiple mobile APPs and Matter controllers in the network can control the device synchronously.
Support for Matter Fabric is currently included in the public instance of ESP RainMaker and in the open source iOS mobile app (Android mobile app coming soon). You can simulate and evaluate your application based on this.
