1. System environment

  • SSD: Windows 10
  • Mechanical hard disk: contains the EFI residual files of the original old system, and the old system disk has been formatted

2. Uninstall Ubuntu

After following the above tutorial, there is a problem: After pressing F12 after booting, you can still see the ubuntu startup item in the Boot Menu.

I deleted the "entire" EFI folder under the original mechanical hard drive, but it still doesn't work.

So put this issue on hold for the time being, and will solve it in the next step.

3. Install Ubuntu

① Change "Partition Table Type" from MBR to GUID.

The partition table type of my solid-state drive is MBR. If you want to install ubuntu on the solid-state drive, you need to convert it to GUID.

② Change the computer boot mode to UEFI.

My computer boot method is the traditional Legacy. It needs to be modified for UEFI booting.

③ Make Ubuntu system disk

④ Delete the original ubuntu startup item

After making the system disk, do not enter the formal installation steps, but boot through the U disk, first "try Ubuntu", then use efibootmgr to delete the original ubuntu startup items, and then shut down and restart to enter the formal installation.

⑤ Officially enter the Ubuntu installation
