SSD
Solid-state drives are new hard drives that have become popular in recent years. Currently, the most common types of SSDs are SATA3.0 and M.2. The biggest highlight of solid-state drives is that the reading speed is much faster than that of traditional mechanical hard drives. Computers using SSDs are significantly faster than mechanical hard drives in terms of switching speed and loading speed of large applications, and the experience is undoubtedly better. Therefore, SSDs have gradually become standard computer.
However, SSD (Solid State Drive) also has its soft underbelly, that is, capacity and price. The capacity of solid state drive is not comparable to that of mechanical hard drive for the time being, and the price has always been high, so solid state drive is still not available for now. Instead of mechanical hard disks, the two coexist more. For example, SSDs are used as systems to give full play to their fast running speed, while mechanical hard disks are used for data storage.
Hybrid hard disks mainly combine solid-state + mechanical dual hard disks into one. At present, there are relatively few such hybrid hard disks. Only a few notebooks use this kind of hybrid hard disk due to limited internal space. For desktop computers, you can buy a solid-state + mechanical combination separately.
Finally, let’s talk about Optane memory. Optane memory is a cache disk that accelerates mechanical hard disks. Through Optane memory, large-capacity mechanical hard disks can be accelerated, so that large-capacity mechanical hard disks can also have a speed experience close to SSD.
However, it is a pity that Optane memory is only suitable for intel platforms of 7th generation and above. At the same time, the CPU must be above I3, and the motherboard must be above B250. The hardware limitations and the user experience have no advantages compared to the combination of solid state + mechanical hard disk, so It is currently used less.
