Dual system reinstall ubuntu, ubuntu partition scheme

In the dual system of win10 and ubuntu, ubuntu's /var and /lib are always not enough. Reinstall ubuntu and re-divide the area.

I didn't take pictures when reloading, so I just said it.

I left more than 170 Gs for ubuntu. Previously, /var, /usr, and /lib were not enough, so this time I have more points.

u disk boot disk

1. Download the ios file

Go to the ubuntu official website to download the ios file

Or use some sources to download directly, which is faster, such as the mirror source of the University of Science and Technology of China: mirrors.ustc.edu.cn/

2. Make a CD image file

After opening UItraISO.exe, select the system iso file, insert the USB flash drive, and select "Start" --> "Write Hard Disk Image" --> "Write" (note that the USB flash drive will be formatted, remember to backup)

That's it!

Restart into bios

You are F2, F12, F8, del, try it yourself depending on the situation

replace boot with u disk

! ! Check here to see if it says "UEFI", mine is.

Install the system-look at the existing partition

For dual systems, there must be win10 partitions in the partition table when partitioning for a while. You can first check which partitions are used by win10, and don't format it wrong for a while.

What do you think? Just click "Exit" to exit the installer first. Now it is a temporary interface of ubuntu. Take a look in the folder, and it will be clear after all those are separated. My sda5 was previously a win10 partition, so it can be reassigned from sda6 onwards.

If you click a few in the folder, don't forget to unmount it.

Now really start partitioning!

The installation system has been the next step until you ask: install on the existing ubuntu, or on the entire hard disk (choose this, other systems on the same hard disk will be gone), there is an "other options" at the bottom that can be customized , Repartition.

Select "Other options" to repartition.

Select the original ubuntu partition (all), and then press the minus sign'-' in the lower left corner, so that the original ubuntu partition becomes "free"

Click "Idle" each time, and then press "+" to create a partition.

1) Give 12G to swap, because I have 12G of memory.

        Logical partition + space starting position + swap space;

2) Give /boot (boot partition) 500M (but I use UEFI boot, it is said that I don’t need this, I’m not sure, so let’s divide it)

        Primary partition + space starting position + Ext4 log file system + mount point /boot

UEFI should be used for "EFI system partition" to 1G

        Logical partition + space starting position + EFI system partition;

3) Give / (primary partition) 50G, which is used to store the system, /var /usr /lib, etc. are all here

        Primary partition + space starting position + Ext4 log file system + mount point/;

4) Give the rest to /home

       Logical partition + space starting position + Ext4 log file system + mount point /home

! ! ! It's not over yet! ! !

There is another item below the partition, "Install the boot loader device".

If you are also booting with "UEFI", choose the one with "EFI", if it is not booting with UEFI, choose the one with /boot.

Alright! Start the installation, the next step, and that's it!
