blendOS v3 "Bhatura" has been released , the ultimate Arch Linux-based hybrid distribution.

blendOS strives to provide all software in one operating system. Users can download software from distribution repositories such as Arch, Fedora, Ubuntu, or directly install software using package managers such as apt, dnf-3, pacman, and yay, and enjoy out-of-the-box Android applications and web applications .

 

blendOS v3  has a ton of new features, including  system track the ability to switch between 7 desktop environments, seamless atomic background updates, support for 10 container distributions and Nix, reproducible systems (containers and dotfiles), for both system and user A new developer-friendly CLI utility for operations and more.

 

DE environment support

BlendOS supports 7 desktop environments, including GNOME, KDE Plasma, Cinnamon, XFCE, Deepin, MATE, and LXQt. You can  system track switch between desktop environments easily and instantly using .

Simplified App Installation

Now just double-click the DEB, RPM, pkg.tar.zst or APK to install it into the container. (For APKs, you need to initialize Android App Support from the BlendOS Settings app)

New CLI utilities

BlendOS v3 introduces two new command line utilities  system and  user .

systemsystem install Allows installation of packages on the host itself, such as drivers and virtualization software ( and  system remove )  from the Arch Linux repositories  . Unlike many other immutable distributions, blendOS supports software like VirtualBox if installed on a host machine.

user A replacement for the old  blend CLI (deprecated in v2). It allows creating and managing containers and associations, as well as generating and moving point files and containers between different BlendOS machines,
