This article will explain how to download VMware and download images, as well as a tutorial on installing centos 7
1. Download VMware
You can enter the official website to download VMware through a browser, and open VMware to install after downloading.
2. How to download the image
1. Enter the Centos official website to download
2. Enter Alibaba Cloud and Huawei Cloud Mirror Station to download
Take Aliyun as an example. There are many, such as ubuntu and centos. You can choose the version by clicking on it, which is very convenient.
3. Install Linux
1. Click on VMware to create a new virtual machine (if not, you can right-click on the blank space, and then select New Virtual Machine), select Typical for the configuration, and click "Next".
2. Choose to install the operating system later , and then click "Next".
3. The version can be selected according to the mirror version you downloaded . Centos 7 is used here as an example.
4. Set the virtual machine name and path. It doesn't affect if you don't set it. It is recommended to set it here, so that you can find it later.
Tip: You can create a folder to place the files generated by the installation separately.
5. Specify the disk capacity (set according to your own needs), which can also be changed after the installation is complete.
6. Click the virtual machine you just created, and then click Edit Virtual Machine.
7. Mount the image , click "CD/DVD", then click "Use ISO image file", click Browse to select the image file you downloaded.
Tip: One image file can be selected by multiple virtual machines.
8. Click "Confirm" in the lower right corner to confirm the configuration (if you don't click confirm, it means no configuration).
9. Open the configured "Linux", select the version, and press Enter.
10. Select the language (it is recommended for beginners to choose Chinese)
11. For software installation, I choose the desktop here (the minimum installation is pure command line interface)
12. Choose minimal installation or desktop
13. After unchecking KDUMP, click Finish
After selection, click Start to install (you can also choose the installation location if you need to choose).
14. Configure the user and administrator passwords, and click Finish after setting (may need to click twice).
15. After setting the password, you may need to click Restart. After restarting, click License, check I agree, and click to complete the configuration.
After waiting for the installation to complete, you can log in.
