The Linux Software Foundation announced the RISC-V software ecosystem RISE on the official blog. The project is hosted by Linux Foundation Europe and supports the global open standards activities and achievements of RISC-V International.
The RISE project focuses on the preparation of commercial software, working closely with RISC-V International to accelerate the entry of more innovative RISC-V products to the market. Target markets include mobile, consumer electronics, data center and automotive.

RISE is a new collaboration bringing together global industry leaders to accelerate software delivery for high-performance and low-power RISC-V cores running advanced operating systems across various market segments.
RISE council members include Andes, Google, Intel, Imagination Technologies, MediaTek, NVIDIA, Qualcomm Technologies, Red Hat, Rivers, Samsung, and Ventana.
Calista Redmond, CEO of RISC-V International mentioned: "As a global community, we have made tremendous progress in the adoption of RISC-V. RISE project members provide financial support and engineering talent to address specific software deliverables prioritized by the RISE Technical Steering Committee (TSC). RISE is committed to creating a strong software ecosystem specifically for application processors, including software development tools, virtualization support, language runtimes, Linux distribution integration, and system firmware, and first cooperates with existing open source communities to follow open source best practices .
