After a long period of testing, foobar2000 officially released version 2.0—another living series, marking foobar2000 finally entering 2.0 after 21 years since its release.

foobar2000 is a free advanced audio player software, including some basic features such as playback gain support, low memory usage, built-in support for some popular audio formats, powerful interface extensions and plug-ins, and excellent sound effects. Its developer is Polish Piotr Pawłowski (English name Peter Pawlowski, former Winamp company Nullsoft member).
In addition to playback, it also supports functions such as generating media libraries, converting media file encodings, and extracting CDs. The reason why foobar2000 appeared was that Peter was dissatisfied with the plug-in architecture of Winamp2.x and Winamp 3, which was more inclined to graphics and developed towards the appearance.
2.0 Major Changes

- Dark Mode support on Windows 10 1809+ and Windows 11
- Improve performance of large libraries
- Significantly improved performance of all search operations
- Add album art in the default UI interface playlist view
- New UI element: ReFacets, which reimplements most of the Facets functions
- New audio output device management features: unneeded devices can be disabled, each device can be configured with a different bit depth and DSP
- More out-of-the-box audio format support: TAK, APE, AC3, DTS (i.e. playable without installing additional plugins)
- Added crossfeed DSP from foobar2000 mobile version
- In addition, the Android version, iOS version and PC version are not updated synchronously, so the mobile version is still at 1.x
