2. Explore back from the dashboard

In order to allow users to quickly switch back and forth between Explore and dashboards, Grafana 6.4 adds a function, when you jump from the drop-down menu to Explore in the dashboard, you can also return to the previous dashboard.

When you jump from the dashboard to Explore, you'll see the Explore toolbar has a "back" arrow.

Click on the arrow will return to the previous dashboard. If you want to save changes back to Explore in the dashboard at the same time, only need to click the inverted triangle next to the arrow to display the "Return to panel with changes" menu item.

3. Real-time log viewing feature improvements

The new version adds a pause button in the Log Viewer panel, simply click on the button will pause to display the new log. Scroll up or when you view the log, the log will automatically display the new pause. If you want to restore the log real-time display, simply re-click on the pause button.

In addition, also we introduced some performance optimization, higher throughput to allow real-time tracking log stream. There are various UI fixes and improvements, such as highlighting more consistent style and a new log is displayed.

4. Add log panel

Log log display panel (e.g. Elastic, Influx and Loki) from other data sources. Usually log panel display next to the monitor panel to display the log output related processes.

Although the log panel also allows you to view real-time log, but it is generally recommended to use this feature only in the Explore. Log panel is best to synchronize the log data through the Refresh button at the top of the page. Log panel now in Beta stage, with caution.

Grafana 6.3 introduces a new way to study further monitoring data, that is, the Data Link . Data link will help you create a dynamic link to an external dashboard or external systems, which mainly consists of two parts, the title and URL composition, the results of which URL can reference template variables and indicators queries, such as the name and the label time series field name, value and time. For more information about the Data link, please refer to the official documentation .

In the Grafana 6.3, Data link supports only Graphpanel, Grafana 6.4 enhance the functionality, to support Guagethe panel and Bar Guagethe panel.

6. Series Override by the dot line becomes

Some indicators of results rather special, each time series consisting of only one point, can not be displayed in Graphthe panel. Grafana 6.4 can use series overrides the point becomes a line parallel to the X axis, only need to select Transform > constantit.

7. Share results between different panel

If the query some indicators are resource-intensive, you can share the same query results between different panels, in order to avoid duplication of inquiry. Specific methods of operation is to select a data source in the new panel -- Dashboard --, and select the appropriate panel.

In addition to sharing a panel of all the results, you can also choose to share part of the query results panel. This feature is currently in Alphaphase, you need to be explicitly enabled in the configuration file.

8. grafana-toolkit released Alpha version

grafana-toolkit goal is to work to simplify plug-in developers, it allows developers to focus on the core values of the plug, do not care about the environment and configuration, you do not care about testing and packaging processes.

9. abandoned PhantomJS

Before Grafana use PhantomJS to render the image in the panel, has now been abandoned, it will be completely removed in a future release. If you are still using PhantomJS, each time Grafana start will warn PhantomJS has been abandoned to you.

Starting Grafana 6.4, it is recommended to migrate from PhantomJS Grafana image rendering plug .

10. The base image to Alpine
