FreeBSD 12.2 is officially released

The FreeBSD team announced the official release of FreeBSD 12.2, which is the third stable version of FreeBSD 12.

Some highlights of this update:

  • An update to the wireless network stack and various drivers have been introduced to provide better 802.11n and 802.11ac support.

  • Add ice(4) driver to support Intel's 100Gb Ethernet card.

  • Update the jail(8) utility to allow Linux to run in an isolated environment.

  • OpenSSL has been updated to version 1.1.1h.

  • OpenSSH has been updated to version 7.9p1.

  • Clang, LLVM, LLD, LLDB, compiler-rt and libc++ have been updated to 10.0.1.
