6. Manage configuration files

Now that you have all the updates for WebSphere 7 installed, you must create a configuration file to use WebSphere Application Server.

1. Start the Profile Management Tool from the Start menu.

2. Click Profile Management Tool, and then click Create.

3. Select the features that need to be based on the new profile, in this case Application server, and click Next.

4. Select Typical or Advanced profile creation and click Next.

5. As when installing the WebSphere Application Server software, uncheck the Enable Administrative Security check box, and then click Next.

6. The wizard displays a profile summary, click Create to generate a profile based on the platform technology you selected.

7. Click Finish to start the First Steps console.

8. Click the Install Verification link on the First Steps console, Websphere starts and a console window appears showing the startup log.

9. Before verifying the installation, look for a verification success message at the end of the console log. This may take a few minutes to display.

10. 验证安装后,关闭控制台窗口,然后在First Steps控制台单击Stop the Server,出现另一个控制台日志,完成后关闭控制台窗口。

11. 关闭First Steps控制台,您的WebSphere Application Server安装已完成。
