For example, cutting, special effects, audio, subtitles, etc. need to be added to the timeline window and then edited. The content presented by the timeline is the "content" displayed in the "previewer window", that is, we finally see the video content of the film. as the picture shows.

Video track: Video or image sections can be placed

Audio Track: Audio or effect sections can be placed

Video bus track: Video output FX can be placed, this track cannot place video.

Regarding the track, in addition to the common layer rules, the main difference from the same type of software is "parent, child and composition"

1. Compositing refers to the process of mixing video tracks to create a single layered output.

Combine tracks with masks to cover parts of the video or limit the effects of filters. Masks are mainly based on dark and light areas, specific colors or alpha channels. It can also be drawn manually.

Click the Composition Mode button in the track and choose a mode from the menu to determine the composition mode between video tracks. Since the content of the lower track will be displayed through the upper track, the composition mode of the upper track determines the display state of the next track.

Click the Make Synth Child button on the parent track to make the Child Track. Click the Generate Composite Parent button on the child track to generate the Parent Track.

We can also generate complex compositions by nesting "parent/child track groups". When we need to create multiple layers as sub-tracks at the same time, we can hold down the ctrl keyboard to select multiple track layers, and then click "Generate Composition" child".

2. Create a mask (a track-level mask)

Set the two adjacent tracks as parent and child tracks (the same method as above)

To create a video mask, select "Multiply (Mask)" in "Composition Mode" above the parent track

3. Track extension

After expanding the track layer, it is found that the two pieces of material in the same track are arranged in two different layers of the same track, and there will be an additional track with a cross symbol in the middle. The track with the cross symbol is to add a "transition". FX place. When the two pieces of material do not intersect, the materials will be arranged in the order of one up and one down, as shown in the figure.

Select the Solo button to solo all unselected tracks, and click the Solo button on other tracks to add them to a Solo group. To cancel the Solo effect, click the Solo button here.

In composition mode, clicking the mute or solo button on the parent track will mute or solo the entire track group. For more Vegas usage and skills, please download Vegas and explore slowly.
