4.9 Install and configure AD server role ( DC01 )


1. Open Server Manager on DC01 and click "Add Roles and Features"

2. Open the Add Roles and Functions wizard and click "Next"

3. In the interface for selecting the installation type, by default, click "Next"

4. Select the target server, select DC01, and click "Next"

5. Add the functions required by AD Domain Services, click "Add Function"

6. Confirm that AD domain server and DHCP server are selected, and click "Next"

7. Click "Next"

8. Click "Install" to start installing AD Domain Services

9. After the installation is complete, click "Close"

10. Click the ××× exclamation mark in Server Manager and select “This server is a domain controller”

11. Start configuring AD Domain Services, select "Add Domain Controller to Existing Domain" and other defaults, click "Next"

12. Check "Domain Name System (DNS) Server" and "Global Catalog", enter the password for directory restoration mode, and click "Next"

13. On the DNS options page, click "Next"

14. Specify the replication selection as AD2008 and click "Next"

15. Specify the location of ADDS data, log files and SYSVOL. By default, click "Next"

16. Click "Next"

17. Confirm the configuration information and click "Next"

18. Click "Install"

19. After the installation is complete, click "Close"
