A resume (CV) is an "advertising" to sell yourself to an employer .

What is CV?

  • CV means " Curriculum Vitae "
  • Curriculum vitae means " the story of life " in Latin
  • CV is often referred to as " Resume "

What's in a CV?

A CV should contain at least the following:

  • Personal information
  • work experience
  • Skill
  • Education level
  • Profile and interests
  • recommend

your personal information

Personal information should include name, address, telephone and email . I recommend that you put this information at the top of the CV so that it looks like letterhead.

your work experience

List jobs you've done - list your most recent job history at the beginning .

As well as a brief job description and your responsibilities .

Make sure your work history is on the first page of your CV. This information outlines your skills and strengths . Other additional information should be located later.

your skills

Skills are best described using lists .

List your skills - the most important and most relevant.

your education level

Education is best described using lists.

List what you have studied - List your most recent education at the beginning .

Don't forget subject options, special programs, courses or honors certificates .

your recommendation

List the names of some people - such as professors at your school, directors of companies - to make sure they can be easily reached and that they are willing to make positive referrals for you.

your profile

Your profile should include additional information about your age, interests, and other relevant information that will help create a positive image of you . I suggest you put these at the end of your CV .

Employers will be interested in learning about these because they reveal your qualities . But be careful not to over-describe your interests or those that might interfere with your work. Say you're coaching a soccer team, don't write the number of games won. If they're interested, have them chat with you at a future interview.
