Huawei released the first Hongmeng car: push the new brand AITO equipped with Hongmeng cockpit

It's coming, it's coming, it's coming with the latest Huawei smart cockpit!

This is also Huawei's gradual deepening in the automotive field.

Huawei released a new high-end car brand AITO brand, the first model is the luxury electric drive SUV Wenjie M5, which is also the first car equipped with Hongmeng smart cockpit.

The new car launched a total of 3 models, the price range of 250,000 yuan - 320,000 yuan. The pre-sale price of the Wenjie M5 rear-wheel-drive standard version is 250,000 yuan, the pre-sale price of the four-wheel drive performance version is 280,000 yuan, and the pre-sale price of the four-wheel drive flagship version is 320,000 yuan.

The new car is equipped with the Hongmeng OS smart cockpit, and the on-board map service is also provided by Huawei Petal Maps. The acceleration from 100 km/h is 4.4s, and the acceleration from 0-50km/h is as low as 1.9s. The vehicle can achieve a CLTC operating range of 1,242 kilometers when fully charged.

In terms of appearance, the new car adopts a minimalist design style, which combines the sporty feeling of a supercar and the stable feeling of an SUV. In addition, the new car will provide 6 exterior colors of ceramic white, pine frost green, ice crystal gray, gilt black, navy blue and azure blue, and 3 pure interior colors of ivory white, polar night black and agate brown for users to choose.

In terms of size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4770*1930*1625mm, and the wheelbase reaches 2880, which makes the car not only have the size of a medium-sized car, but also the interior space is worth looking forward to.

It is worth mentioning that the streamlined body lines and the 20-inch sail all-aluminum wheels bring an ultra-low wind resistance of 0.32Cd, which combines the sporty feeling of a supercar with the steadiness of an SUV.

The interior is unified with a minimalist design style. Equipped with a large 15.6-inch LCD screen, equipped with the new HarmonyOS smart cockpit for the first time, and integrated with the Huawei ecosystem, it can realize the seamless flow of super terminals with people, mobile phones, smart homes, smart watches, etc. The convenience of all things brings the sense of technology to the extreme.

In addition, the new car is also equipped with 128-color ambient lights, an oversized skylight on the sky screen, a 7.1 surround sound field with Huawei’s 19-unit acoustic design, as well as an air purification system and an exclusive fragrance system to keep the interior of the car fresh at all times. It is worth integrating that the new car is also equipped with functions such as smart lamp language, L2+ automatic assisted driving, and V2L reverse charging.

In terms of power, AITO M5 is equipped with HUAWEI DriveONE pure electric drive range extension platform, a power system composed of 1.5T four-cylinder range extension engine + front asynchronous AC motor + rear permanent magnet synchronous motor specially designed for range extension system. The engine has the highest compression ratio of 15:1, 41% ultra-high thermal efficiency, 1L of oil can generate 3.2 kWh of electricity, and the vehicle can achieve a CLTC operating range of 1242km when fully charged.

At the same time, it supports V2L reverse charging, and the power of reverse charging can reach an astonishing 3500W, which is far better than the mainstream 2200W in the industry. The peak power of the intelligent four-wheel drive combination composed of the front asynchronous AC motor and the rear permanent magnet synchronous motor can reach 365kW, the vehicle can accelerate from 100 kilometers to 4.4s, and the acceleration from 0-50km/h is as low as 1.9s, which is comparable to the extreme performance of supercars. The vehicle can achieve a CLTC operating range of 1,242 kilometers when fully charged.

In addition, the new car provides 5 driving modes, 3 extended-range modes, and 4-speed recovery strength can be freely adjusted. In terms of chassis, the all-aluminum chassis of the new car adopts front double wishbones and rear multi-link independent suspension, which can still maintain good stability and comfort under extreme control.

The real car display of the new car will be displayed in 180 Huawei stores in 42 cities from December 23, 2021; from January 20, 2022, test drives will be launched in 500 Huawei stores in 118 cities.

Is Huawei really going to enter the car industry?

I think AITO is a new high-end brand jointly launched by Huawei and Celis, and it wants to break through in the field of new energy vehicles. But at the press conference, Huawei emphasized that Huawei's role is to help car companies make good cars.

However, in addition to providing key automotive hardware components, Huawei's mobile phone industrial design team and user experience team also participated in the cooperation, and the research and development between car companies was closer.

For example, AITO M5 is equipped with HUAWEI DriveONE pure electric drive range extension platform, with intelligent four-wheel drive electric system and cash precision oil cooling technology, the four-wheel drive flagship version can achieve 100 km acceleration in 4.4 seconds, and 0-50 km acceleration in 1.9 seconds. At the same time, the new car also provides HUAWEI home charging piles.

In terms of the HarmonyOS smart cockpit that has attracted much attention, the new car is equipped with 3D face recognition function, smart split-screen function, as well as voice assistant interaction, panoramic parking and other functions. At the same time, it is worth noting that the in-vehicle map service used by AITO M5 is provided by Huawei's own application Petal Maps. In addition, on the multi-terminal interconnection, users can use the watch to control the car, check the car condition, unlock the car without sensing, and search for the car through the watch. The HUAWEI WATCH 3 series will be the first to support this function.

In fact, Huawei has previously cooperated with Celis, a subsidiary of Xiaokang Group. On the one hand, at the sales channel level, Celis Huawei Smart SF5 officially entered Huawei's flagship store and sold through Huawei's nationwide retail channel network; on the other hand Huawei and Celis also have in-depth cooperation at the product level. The two parties have jointly developed a hump intelligent range extender system, which consists of a battery system, a high-efficiency range extender, a generator system, and an electric drive system. This system has been used in Celis. SF5 Freedom Expedition Edition model.

Today, the cooperation between the two parties has gone a step further. On December 2, Celis announced the new AITO brand, and stated that Celis aims to enter the first echelon within five years and become the TOP3 brand of new energy vehicles in the world.

According to the car guide, as of December 2021, the latest monthly sales of the Celis SF5 were 1,446 units, and the cumulative sales in 2021 were 6,997 units. The announcement of Xiaokang shares on December 3 shows that in November 2021, its new energy vehicle sales were 4,591, a year-on-year increase of 78.01%, and the cumulative sales of new energy vehicles this year were 35,290, a year-on-year increase of 107.39%. Although there is still a gap in sales compared with first-tier new energy car companies, for Xiaokang itself, new energy vehicles have increased significantly and have become the pillar of growth.

At present, Huawei is throwing stones at the automotive field to ask for directions, and making more explorations in the integration of software and hardware. The new forces represented by Huawei and Tesla obviously have the opportunity to become the real promoters of automotive intelligence. On the road of "building a car", companies have different strategies and routes. For example, Tesla is currently a "car-owning party" and Huawei is a "car-free party".

Huawei itself does not build cars. Its positioning is as an automotive supplier. The products involved include computing platforms, operating systems, key components, ADS autonomous driving systems, and more.

Huawei is also continuing to deploy in the automotive field. Not long ago, the Huawei Smart Vehicle Solution Innovation Center at Huawei Suzhou Research Institute has been built and put into use. It is mainly open to car companies and partners for joint development, testing, verification and achievement presentations. . The innovation center includes 9 laboratories including MDC, fusion sensing, smart cockpit, and vehicle gateway.
