Stay on the line, escape the line? I will tell you about my life experience when I returned to Chengdu with my family from Shanghai. . .

I graduated from Zhejiang University as a graduate student in 2006 and went to Shanghai for my first job at Huawei, 15 years ago.

I stayed in Shanghai for 8 years, settled down, got married, bought a house, and had children.

Since I am a native of Sichuan, I have always had the idea of returning to Chengdu to work and live. In 2009, I took a loan and bought a three-bedroom apartment between the 2nd and 3rd rings of Chengdu.

From 2014 to 2015, my wife and I found jobs in Chengdu and moved back with our family one after another.

In 2016, during a small peak in the Shanghai property market, I seized the opportunity to sell the property located in Zhoupu, Pudong, Shanghai, and pocketed 400W after repaying the loan.

In 2017, the Chengdu property market started to move, and I took decisive action. I bought a new house and a second house in the community where I lived, and then bought a townhouse on Guanghua Avenue in Wenjiang.

Today, there are two suites in my community, one for self-occupation and the other for parents. Personally, I think this is the best model. Living separately from my parents in the same community can take care of each other without interfering with each other. The villa on the Wenjiang side is planned to be renovated in the next two years. When the baby goes to high school and live on campus, he can go there and live there, so that the elderly can also enjoy the happiness.

Looking back at the 15 years since I started working, the main line is to buy a house. From a small house of 60 square meters in the suburbs of Shanghai Pudong in 2008, to a large house in 2012; from buying the first house in Chengdu in 2009 to selling it in 2017 Dropped a house in Shanghai and bought a house in Chengdu again.

I bought a house 5 times, across the two major cities, one east and one west, and experienced the most thrilling skyrocketing stage of China's property market. Fortunately, I was part of the process. Although every time I buy a house, the purpose is not for investment, but for self-occupation and improvement, but indeed, I am the beneficiary of this process.

There are both gains and losses. When I returned from Shanghai to Chengdu, I gave up the possibility of a better job development opportunity in Shanghai; my wife gave up the job in the university and the circle of friends in Shanghai; my son gave up his education in Shanghai and taking the college entrance examination. Opportunity; our whole family gave up the coveted Shanghai hukou.

Now in Chengdu, I work as a department manager in a private software R&D company, and my wife works as a project management supervisor in a state-owned company. It looks like the work is good, but we all feel very tired all the time. Compared with Shanghai, companies in Chengdu are generally one level worse in terms of system and management. There are too many people, no separation of responsibilities and rights, and too many scenes of chaotic management. In the final analysis, the quality of people is still a grade lower than that of the front line.

As a middle-level manager, I feel that neither the vision and bearing of the senior leaders nor the basic cognition and professionalism of the employees are comparable to Shanghai. Sometimes in addition to dealing with their own jobs, they have to spend much more time and energy than in Shanghai to deal with complex interpersonal relationships and colleagues and employees with insufficient knowledge. After a long time, we are all tired and tired, and many times we have the idea of leaving. However, what can you do if you leave your job? It is not realistic to start your own business, and there are no connections or opportunities in Chengdu.

The biggest gap between Chengdu and Shanghai is the gap between people's professional quality and professional culture, and the gap between the soft environment.

Chengdu people are more about connections and relationships, while Shanghai people are more about rules and contract spirit. People who work seriously in Shanghai are very relaxed, because everyone looks at the results, and try to avoid unnecessary consumption and involution; while in Chengdu, in addition to the matter itself, the game of stakeholders is also very important, and you have to take care of the interests of all parties. Interest needs, and sometimes even choose sides. The more backward the place, the more important emotional intelligence appears, because of the rule of man, because the system is not perfect and not widely recognized;

Even if there are systems and rules, but everyone lacks unanimous recognition and reverence for the rules and regulations, the system will become a castle in the air and will not fall to the ground. This is the importance of the broad basis of people's professionalism and quality. Deviating from this general environment, the good will become bad, and the professional will become special. The so-called bad money drives out the good money, which is also a first-line and a second-line The biggest soft difference. But everything has two sides. On the other hand, in Chengdu, you will feel that the people around you are warm and friendly, but in Shanghai, you will often feel that the people around you are more or less indifferent. This is also a typical difference between a human society and an institutional society.

In addition to the large gap in work and career, I feel that Chengdu is better than Shanghai in other aspects. Because living in the suburbs in Shanghai, the hard environment is very general, the surrounding is like a small town, and the psychological feeling is not good. When I saw a doctor at Zhoupu Hospital once, the doctor said that it would be better for you to go to Shanghai. I felt like I was in a fake Shanghai.

Only when you go around the city of Shanghai can you truly feel that you are in Shanghai. In Chengdu, because I live near the Second Ring Road and go to work in the high-tech zone, my activity tracks are all in the metropolitan area. Whether it is a hard environment or a psychological feeling, I feel that I am a real Chengdu native, and I will not be often dismissed by Shanghai old people. Auntie looked from head to toe.

Chengdu’s parks and greenways have been built very well in recent years. On weekends, I often go cycling on the greenway around the city. I can really ride a long distance around the city, with greenery and prosperous scenery along the way, and I feel comfortable. The air is also very well controlled, the sunny days have increased a lot, and the days to see the snow-capped mountains have also increased a lot. Also near 30 degrees north latitude, the climate is really more livable than Shanghai. There is no extreme cold and heat in Shanghai, and there are no frequent strong winds and occasional typhoons, and the vegetation is more lush. The threat of earthquakes, I personally feel that after the Wenchuan earthquake in 2008, although there will occasionally be some small earthquakes nearby, Chengdu is actually safer, because the energy accumulated for thousands of years has been released, and the next time of the same scale may be necessary. accumulated for thousands of years. If there is no earthquake now, everyone is not aware of this threat, but it is the most dangerous.

One of the great advantages of returning to Chengdu is diet. I am a native of Sichuan, and I still have a soft spot for Sichuan cuisine and Sichuan snacks. More importantly, Chengdu's food culture is stronger than Shanghai's, and the choices are more extensive. After returning to Chengdu for so many years to satisfy my appetite, now I occasionally miss Shanghai Xiaolong, Suzhou soup dumplings and large noodles, fried fish noodles, Shaxian snacks all over the street, and Lanzhou noodles.

In terms of urban life, Chengdu is really not inferior to Shanghai. The major business districts, Taikoo Li IFS on Chunxi Road, Phase 1 and 2 of Mixc City, Joy City, and high-tech commercial clusters in the south of the city are all similar to Shanghai in terms of scale and fashion. a fight. This can be seen from the ranking of the total retail sales of urban social sales. Chengdu generally follows Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen.

The popular Chengdu Taikoo Li Street Shot on Douyin is also a great proof of fashion popularity. Blowing is one aspect. First of all, you have to have the capital to blow. You can't just take it anywhere. Chengdu’s casual style is stronger than Shanghai’s. There are teahouses, bars, coffee bars, street performers, and literary petty bourgeoisie everywhere.

In terms of public transportation, Chengdu is really good. After the subway was opened to traffic for more than 300 kilometers last year, the physical impression has initially the feeling of Shanghai, that is, you can find a subway station entrance not too far away, which is a sign of reaching the front line. In addition to the subway, the rapid transit system with the second ring elevated as the original skeleton has also been initially formed in the east, west, north and south of the city, and the ride experience is excellent. The capillary community bus is richer and more distinctive than Shanghai.

The bus time card, one yuan per time, and free transfers are also not available in Shanghai. There is another experience that impressed me. Chengdu bus drivers, regardless of whether someone gets off or not, must open the door at every stop, even if it is a symbolic opening and closing of the door; and Shanghai bus, the most impressive thing is that the driver shouted at the stop. : "Wow, get off the bus", it will stop when no one responds. If you don't pay attention, it is easy to miss the stop.

In terms of education, since the household registration is in Jinjiang District, the educational resources in Chengdu are considered very good. The primary school is a private primary school attached to the Sichuan Normal University, and the junior high school has to draw multiple schools. Luckily, I won the seventh middle school Yucai, which can be regarded as offsetting the regret of giving up Shanghai education.

We also do not expect the child to be excellent in learning. If he is able to be admitted to the Qingbei reunification diplomacy in the future, we will also recommend that he graduate and work in Chengdu. If he is able to go abroad for further education, the cost-effectiveness of staying in the front line is too low. Of course, it depends on his own wishes. When the child is older, it will be up to him. We have our own lives.

Summary and suggestions: From Shanghai to Chengdu, there are gains and losses. In general, we should be grateful for life and destiny. No matter which city you choose, you have to work hard, love life, and what suits you is the best choice. From the first-tier to the second-tier, if you can accept the gap between your work career and the soft environment, the price/performance ratio in other aspects is still very high. After all, the housing price gap is an insurmountable gap.

If you are a career-struggling type, you like to get fun and the meaning of life in your career, and stay in the front line; if you are a stable and home-based type, you like comfort and peace, and you can return to the second-line and find your belongings in a quiet life. own poetry and distance.

40 years old, believe in destiny. Sometimes life seems to have many choices, but in fact the choices are very limited; it seems that they are all their own active choices, but they are actually arranged by fate, and they are just following such arrangements.

At the crossroads of life, do you really think you have a choice? No, we are all pushed here by the times, the tide of history, and an invisible hand. Grateful for fate.

Every choice is an attitude towards life. There is no right or wrong in itself, but in the face of life, all I can do is to run hard. We cannot decide the length of life, but we can control the width of life.

Finally, I would like to hear everyone's opinions and welcome to communicate with each other.
