A person has to make thousands of choices in his life, and each choice will determine the direction of your future growth in life. Maybe my choice is not the most correct and perfect, but it is the best choice I can use most carefully. Therefore, whenever someone asks me if I do not regret it, I can tell them firmly that I never regret it.
Today, I want to share with you a few important decisions that I have made in my life. I hope to inspire my younger brothers and sisters who are about to enter society, as well as those who are not working well and want to change their lives.
The first choice: go to school or work?
I remember that it was the summer of 2015, the end of my junior year. I went to an e-commerce company for an internship with my two friends Erhei and Xiaofei. Since there were no classes in the senior year and our major was not very good for employment, we wanted to be a customer service at the time to see how the e-commerce company works.
In the first few months of work, we clocked in step by step every day, answered questions raised by customers, and summarized feedback. The manager said that as long as we do well and give feedback in time, we will have a chance to earn the prize of the month every month.
In order to get the bonus, the three of us worked hard and went out early and returned late. After seeing our efforts, the leaders not only gave us bonuses as agreed, but also said that after graduation, if we are willing to stay, we can immediately become positive. This made the three of us happy for several days.
After the National Day, all e-commerce companies entered an emergency stocking period. Everyone knows that there will be a large number of shipments on Double Eleven every year, and a large number of customers will also come to inquire about Double Eleven events, how to discount store products, etc., so companies generally hire some temporary workers to help.
One day, I overheard my boss talking to HR: "Is it a reason to not recruit people? Wouldn't you go to college to recruit interns? Isn't it good to run these three interns in a company? 3000 yuan a month? , Give a bonus of 1,000 yuan and I am willing to work until 9 o'clock. I really don’t know how you do things~"
The boss's words deeply irritated me. It turns out that in the face of reality, we are so worthless.
After get off work in the evening, I told Erhei and Xiaofei to tell them what I heard today and told them that I wanted to quit my job and go to the postgraduate entrance examination. Erhei agrees with me, thinking that we should increase our own value before getting a job; Xiaofei believes that after graduation, we will get a regular salary and earn 7000 yuan a month. The income is okay. Besides, there is not much time for postgraduate entrance examinations. Don't consider it anymore.
So, within a few days, we handed in our resignation and parted ways with Xiaofei and the home appliance company.
The second decision: whether to stay in a familiar position
I firmly believe that even if there is not much time, as long as we choose the right major and seize the end of the time, there will be hope for success in the postgraduate entrance examination.
So, I combined with Erhei and chose a profession that is not very good for employment, but is easy to succeed in the postgraduate entrance examination, and started our postgraduate entrance examination career. During that time, it was very tiring and hard, but finally the hard work paid off and we were successfully admitted to the same school.
In the years of university, we carefully observed the current employment situation and trends in various industries. Erhei and I are more concerned about the financial industry and the Internet industry, because these two industries are very good in terms of future development trends and salary, and it can almost be said that the future is promising.
In January 2019, I graduated with Erhei graduate students. Campus recruitment has given us many job opportunities. Based on the fact that we don't have a foundation in the computer industry, we finally chose the financial industry that everyone is generally optimistic about. The benefits and salary levels are considerable, and the position is also very challenging.
Due to our academic qualifications, the company took us as a key training object. As soon as I joined the company, it gave a monthly salary of 9,000 yuan and a year-end bonus. This made Erhei and I both excited. We quickly immersed ourselves in our work, and we only wanted to lay a solid foundation for our future through our own efforts.
Unexpectedly, after working for a period of time, the constraints of the financial system and the rigid working state gradually made me realize that this is not the working state I want.
The sudden epidemic in 2020 has greatly affected the financial industry. In addition, the country has issued relevant laws and regulations on many chaotic incidents in the industry. It has become increasingly difficult for companies to obtain funds to operate. Up. After working at home, the company quit many employees in order to survive. Although I was spared, the subsequent rotation and transfer gave me the idea of leaving.
Maybe this is an opportunity for me to take a good rest and find a job that I like.
The Third Choice: Re-entry Class
Perhaps it was because I had enough knowledge about the position I was previously engaged in. Therefore, on the day I left my job, I didn't feel a little uneasy in my heart. More, it was a sense of relief.
The job I want is the kind of job that makes me think and makes me willing to continuously learn new knowledge for it, rather than copying every day's work mechanically and dumbly.
In August 2020, I decided to go home to work. This time, I did not rush to find a job, but first did a general research on the Internet industry. In the process of surfing the Internet, I feel that the IT industry is more "money".
I took a closer look at the jobs in the IT industry and found that the software testing industry has lower entry barriers and good salaries. Later, I saw that there are many software testing training courses on the Internet. I think that since there are so many training courses, it means that the market in this industry is also good. This also gives me the confidence to contact the teachers of the training courses to learn about the courses.
Since there are many training courses I have learned, I don't know which one is better, so I posted to the post bar and asked others. As a result, many people recommended China Test Education because it is a more experienced software testing training organization in the industry.
Later, I got in touch with Sister Lan Lan of China Test. Through communication with the teacher, I became more aware that the software testing industry is the industry I want to engage in.
In October 2020, I successfully entered the online training class of China Test. After enrolling, I spent a week gradually changing my role. Most of the classmates are young graduates. After a month of study, I found that they are more active in thinking.
On the other hand, since I have never been in the IT industry before, neither the undergraduate nor the master’s degree are related majors, and the progress of my studies is slightly behind. This makes me deeply appreciate the pressure of being separated.
It is also because of the disadvantages of my profession and thinking that I truly understand my goals and why I am working hard. In the following days, I spent more time and energy to do the work of previewing and reviewing, and also tried my best to restrain myself from being playful and not focusing on other things.
This also made my grades soar. In the last monthly exam, I managed to break into the top 10 in the class. With confidence and steadfastness, I put an end to my graduation. Even the last interview, only 2 interviews, I got an offer of 15,000 yuan.
Experience and perception
Many friends may ask, do you think it is unnecessary to invest so much time and energy and only get a salary that is not much different from the previous job? Even my classmate Erhei asked me this question. Do you regret it after asking? I don't think I can measure it by salary alone, but I should also pay attention to my hobbies. Compared with repetitive work, I prefer thinking. Now that you have chosen the path of thinking, you should not make a decision as soon as possible.
In fact, it is a very normal thing to face different choices at different stages of life. Every choice is a fork in the road. Instead of gritting your teeth and sticking to it on a road that you don't like, it is better to choose a road you like and run forward. Perhaps, by running, you will achieve another height of yourself.
