Foreword:
This article mainly introduces the problems encountered when installing Sogou input method in Ubuntu14. While recording the problem solved by myself, I will do some meager efforts for everyone.
Problem Description:
- After installation, Sogou input method is adjusted to Chinese mode , but the input box does not display Chinese interface but some garbled characters
- Prompt Sogou input method is abnormal: delete .config/SogouPY, then restart
- After deleting it, it still shows abnormal
Problem explanation:
In fact, this is the reason why the versions of Ubuntu14 and Sogou input method are incompatible :
The current Sogou input method version (after 3.0) is too high , while the version of ubuntu14 is relatively low , resulting in version incompatibility issues. It can be found that there are only two files about Sogou under .config/: SogouPY and SogouPY.users, but there is no Sogou-qimpanel.
Solution:
- Upgrade ubuntu14 to 16 or 18 and wait for higher versions.
- Install a lower version of Sogou input method (2.2 or lower ).
- You can search and download lower version input methods online.
Provide your own ubuntu14 64-bit Sogou input method version 2.2.
