Calibre 5.8.1 is now released. Calibre is a powerful e-book management software that supports Amazon, Apple, Bookeen, Ectaco, Endless Ideas, Google/HTC and Hanlin Song devices and formats.
The updates in this version include:
New features
- E-book Viewer: Add a mode to track links using only the keyboard (triggered by Alt + F)
- Edit book: Add an option to synchronize the position of the preview panel to the current position in the code editor (under the "Preview" setting in the "Editor" preferences), display configurable above the current line Number line.
- Windows: When adding a book to calibre, the shortcut (.lnk file) is automatically parsed.
- Content server viewer: When reading on a desktop-like device, do not automatically enter the full screen mode (can be controlled by the settings in the viewer preferences under "Page Layout")
- E-book Viewer tool bar: Add a select all operation and a read operation (you can add it by right-clicking on the toolbar and configuring it)
- Template/formatter enhancements: Add a "for" statement and add the ability for developers to pass additional information to the template.
- Rules editors for icon/coloring rules: Add buttons to copy rules and convert rules to advanced template mode
Bug fix
- Content server viewer: fixed the regression in 5.0, which cannot be scrolled on iOS
- E-book viewer: Fixed an error when scrolling to some search results in flow mode
- AZW3 Input: Fixed the rare AID-based link not working.
- E-book viewer: Fix the problem that the clock in the header/footer does not use the system time format
- Windows: Fix "Read Out Loud" does not apply to books with a single large internal text file, such as MOBI or DOCX books
- PDF Output: Fixed a regression that caused regression conversion failure when typesetting Chinese text
- Amazon metadata download: Fixed an issue where no results could be found when using automatic servers or Google servers due to changes in the tags of the Google search results page.
- Version 5.8.1 fixes several regression problems that destroyed the save to disk function and changed page layout settings in the viewer.
