【Project Introduction】
Filecoin is a decentralized storage network that transforms cloud storage into an algorithmic market .
Miners- obtain FIL by providing data storage and retrieval;
Clients- allow miners to provide data storage, distribution and retrieval services by paying FIL;
[Project progress: Testnet/2/3 parallel ]
Test version (run simultaneously) :
-
Testnet / 2
-
InteropNet Staging ((Testnet / 3)
Test target (updated) :
-
Interoperability test between lotus and go-filecoin has been implemented
-
Economic model, published
-
Hardware configuration/certification structure/economic structure (change to May 29)
Project progress :
-
Testnet/2 is coming to an end
-
Testbet/3 reset repeatedly
-
v26 has been completed and released
[Hot Spots of Last Week]
-
On May 4-6 (US time), the Layer One conference was held. Juan and many other Filecoin core members shared IPFS and Filecoin at the meeting.
-
On May 7-8 (US time), the official Pinning Summit will be held to describe in detail the current and future of IPFS/Filecoin.
-
On May 8th, the official blog was updated and the Filecoin Discover project was launched to sell verified fragmented data, which caused widespread concern and discussion in the community for a while. Currently, the first batch has been sold out.
[Progress of testnet last week]
1) Testnet/3 is progressing smoothly. Testnet PhaseII will be launched next week with a high probability.
2) Testnet/2 operation status: Because Testnet/3 has changed a lot compared to Testnet/2. This Testnet/2 test is of little significance, so everyone can focus on InteropNet.
-
The block height has exceeded 22.5w, and the block production is basically normal
-
The total computing power of the entire network is 3.7+PiB, basically the same as the previous week
-
Average block time is normal: 45s
3) InteropNet operating status (filscan.io):
-
Interopnet continued to reset repeatedly last week, there are still many problems, but it is showing signs of gradual stability
-
According to the current network conditions and the news released by the team, there is a high probability that the second phase of the testnet will be online next week.
-
The second phase of the test network will likely support 64G sector size
-
-
The last reset of the current operating chain occurred on May 7
filscan screenshot (10:00)
-
-
The current height is about 13000+; the total network power is about 280+T
-
Currently there are about 20 active miners, most of them still run 512M sector-size (this will not be supported after PhaseII is started), and a few miners run 32G sectors
-
The block time is still 25 seconds, but the average block time is about 40 seconds. The chance of empty rounds is still very high
-
-
main problem:
-
Chain synchronization efficiency is still not high enough
-
Block rewards are only awarded to the first block of each tipset, and there is basically no block reward for other blocks
-
[Development progress last week]
-
Testnet/3 development continues
-
Improve the pubsub mechanism and improve chain synchronization efficiency
-
Improve the parallelization of copy proof verification
-
Command line and RPC support for multi-signature
-
Solve the problem of sector commit failed when the balance is insufficient and then continue after adding the balance
-
Solve graphsync related issues in the storage and retrieval market
-
Solve the problem of too many sectors or scattered overflow
-
A miner can now only support one address (the previous multi-address solution is removed)
-
Groth parameters are now obtained from proofs.filecoin.io
-
Begin to integrate the v26 certification: fix bugs that do not require certification, and support GPU precommit-phaseII
-
-
Spec (detailed design) and certification system
-
v26 completed and released
-
Deal with ProvingPeriod expiration processing problem
-
Sector life cycle document update
-
For 8M and 16M sectors, two-layer calculations are also used (easy to test)
-
The new copy proof algorithm NSE is under development, and it is still uncertain whether it will be adopted
