Filecoin Weekly-45: What happened after the critical reset of the Filecoin network?

Co-edited by Steven Li and Iris

【Project Introduction】

Filecoin is a decentralized storage network that transforms cloud storage into an algorithmic market .

Miners- obtain FIL by providing data storage and retrieval;

Clients- allow miners to provide data storage, distribution and retrieval services by paying FIL;

[Project progress: Testnet/2/3 parallel ]

Test version (run simultaneously) :

  • Testnet / 2

  • InteropNet Staging ((Testnet / 3)

Test target (updated) :

  • Interoperability test between lotus and go-filecoin has been implemented

  • Economic model, published

  • Hardware configuration/certification structure/economic structure (change to May 29)

Project progress :

  • Testnet/2 is coming to an end

  • Testbet/3 reset, the network after reset uses v25 for the first time

  • Economic model has been released

  • The second phase of the testnet starts, May 11

[Hot Spots of Last Week]

  • On April 23, the testnet Testnet/3 was reset. This reset is very important. The purpose: ①Verify the memory repair plan of the force area dtynn; ②Use the v25 parameter for the first time, and announce that the second phase will also use this parameter; ③Provide some 32G optimization solutions.

  • On April 22, the official blog was updated to introduce the third community member-Ben Fino-Radin.

  • On April 22, ChainX officially announced that if ChainX users want to store their files in Filecoin, they can directly use BTC for storage and payment.

  • Two key points were mentioned in the IPFS official weekly report last week-IPFS mobile design research project and IPFS Pinning Summit.

  • On April 25, the official blog again exposed the heavy news-the economic model was officially released, and the specific parameters will be announced in the next few weeks.

[Progress of testnet last week]

1) Testnet/2 operating status : the height is close to 200,000, the computing power has hardly increased, and it is continuously running

  • Testnet/2: The block height reaches 199,863, the block production is normal, and the total network power is 4.675 PiB

  • The average number of blocks produced in each round is relatively stable, the same as the previous week, about 2.5

  • Average block time is normal: 45 seconds

2) The latest situation of Testnet/3 : Interopnet critical reset last week, many problems were fixed

3) InteropNet operating status :

  • After many problem repairs, the current network can basically operate normally

    • According to the latest plan, the second phase of the testnet will be launched in the week of May 11.

    • The current Interopnet reset is to participate in the community, find problems and help solve problems

  • main problem:

    • Chain synchronization: mainly reflected in peer broadcast and link

    • PaymentChannel and Reward Redeem, gas limit settings and other issues: The Force Zone engineers proposed and are assisting in solving

[Development progress last week]

  • Testnet/3 development continues

    • WinningPost merge and verify

    • The solution to the problem of WebSocket user disconnection

    • Perfect code for search market

    • A lot of bug cleaning, (because of code changes, the previous bugs are no longer valid)

    • Gas limit setting

  • Spec (detailed design) and certification system

    • The release of the economic model, a large number of code updates related to the economic model
