x86 server and non-x86 server
The classification of x86 servers comes from the architecture of CPU. CPUs using CISC (complex instruction set) are called x86 servers, and those using RISC (reduced instruction set) are called non-x86 servers.
Reduced instruction set CPU: ARM, Powerpc, MIPS
Complex instruction set CPU embodiment: Inter, AMD
CPU performance index:
Main frequency, cache (L1 L2 L3)
Why don't the server CPU choose the high frequency, but most of them are 2.xGHz?
At present, the power consumption and production process divide the CPU into two types with high frequency and low number of threads and low frequency and high number of threads. Choose different CPUs according to different application requirements.
