texlive 2018快出来了，具体日程如下:

Plan for TeX Live 2018:
19feb: sources committed, builds begin.
5mar: tlnet (and TL’17) frozen, tlpretest starts, CTAN updates continue there.
2apr: code freeze for final build, major bug fixes only.
9apr: final updates from CTAN, final doc tweaks.
16apr: deliver TL image for TeX Collection packaging/testing.
23apr: deliver TeX Collection DVD image for manufacturing.
30apr: public release (also of MacTeX).
June?: delivery of DVDs to members.

在等待的日子里是不是可以尝尝鲜呢？答案是可以的，我们可以安装一个预先测试版来尝尝鲜。

根据提示预先测试版可以有两种安装方式，一种是在线安装，一种是做本地镜像后，进行本地安装。注意这里主要介绍的是windows下的安装。

下面先介绍第一种方式:

在线安装方法

1. 从预先测试版的镜像源中挑选一个下载 install-tl.zip

2. 本地解压

3. 进入目录编辑 install-tl-advanced.bat
   将call "%~dp0install-tl-windows.bat" -gui perltk %*
   改为:
   call "%~dp0install-tl-windows.bat" -repository http://ftp.cstug.cz/pub/tex/local/tlpretest/ -gui perltk %*
   其中 http://ftp.cstug.cz/pub/tex/local/tlpretest/ 是源的地址。

4. 运行install-tl-advanced.bat，设置好安装目录后开始安装

5. 由于下载速度优先，预计6个小时后安装完成。

本地镜像安装方法

这种方法可能会快捷一点，但要注意用到做镜像的程序rsync。

1. 下载windows下的可用的rsync

2. 解压cwRsyncServer_4.0.5_Installe.zip，安装到C:\Program Files\ICW下。

3. 进入安装目录C:\Program Files\ICW\Bin，打开cmd命令窗口

4. 输入rsync -a --delete --exclude="mactex*" ftp.cstug.cz::pub/tex/local/tlpretest /tlm 开始做本地镜像，注意其中的ftp.cstug.cz::pub/tex/local/tlpretest是镜像源地址，是从这里选的一个 rsync 地址。而/tlm表示本地镜像地址为 rsync 安装目录下的 tlm 目录。

5. 等待镜像下载完毕，完毕后运行install-tl-advanced.bat设置好安装路径，安装texlive。

小结

因为texlive2017已结冻结，所以要测试一些新的更新，那么需要在texlive2018到来之前，安装pretest版测试体验一下。从实践看，利用做本地镜像的方法，下载速度大约170K/s，速度稍微有点慢，但最后安装很成功，达到了最终的目的。
