Enterprise Architecture - Zachman Framework

“...in due course, you will discover that the Framework exists in everything you do, not only IT projects. When you thoroughly understand the Framework, you can become more effective in everything you do. This means everything. This statement is not made lightly.”

“...the Framework schema has been around for thousands of years and I am sure it will be around for a few more thousands of years. What changes is our understanding of it and how to use it for Enterprise engineering and manufacturing.“

Framework:“The Zachman "Framework" is actually a taxonomy for organizing architectural artifacts (in other words, design documents, specifications, and models) that takes into account both who the artifact targets (for example, business owner and builder) and what particular issue (for example, data and functionality) is being addressed.”

Zachman

The Zachman Framework™ is a schema

......

the Zachman Framework™ is the fundamental structure for Enterprise Architecture

......

More specifically, the Zachman Framework™ is an ontology

......

The Zachman Framework™ IS NOT a methodology

......

The Zachman Framework™ is a metamodel

......

The Zachman Framework™ is the basis for Architecture

......
