Download, extract and compile Redis with:
$tar xzf redis-4.0.9.tar.gz
$cd redis-4.0.9
$make
$test
$src/redis-server
$src/redis-cli
redis>set foo bar
OK
redis>get foo

"bar"

1)cc adlist.o /bin/sh:1:cc:not found
sudo apt-get install gcc 
2)redis jemallo/jemallo.h:no such file or directory
make MALLOC=libc
3)You need tcl 8.5 or newer in order to run the Redis test
wget http://downloads.sourceforge.net/tcl/tcl8.6.1-src.tar.gz
sudo tar xzvf tcl8.6.1-src.tar.gz  -C /usr/local/
cd  /usr/local/tcl8.6.1/unix/
sudo ./configure
sudo make
sudo make install
