以太坊POW分析[湖南区块链技术社区]

一:基本概念
PoW,全称Proof of Work,即工作量证明,又称挖矿。大部分公有链或虚拟货币,如比特币、以太坊,均基于PoW算法,来实现其共识机制。即根据挖矿贡献的有效工作,来决定货币的分配。
二:以太坊区块:
以太坊区块由 Header和Body两部分组成。
  其中 Header部分成员如下:
   ParentHash,父区块哈希
   UncleHash,叔区块哈希,具体为Body中Uncles数组的RLP哈希值。RLP哈希,即某类型对象RLP编码后做SHA3哈希运算。
   Coinbase,矿工地址。
   Root,StateDB中state Trie根节点RLP哈希值。
   TxHash,Block中tx Trie根节点RLP哈希值。
   ReceiptHash,Block中Receipt Trie根节点的RLP哈希值。
   Difficulty,区块难度,即当前挖矿难度。
   Number,区块序号,即父区块Number+1。
   GasLimit,区块内所有Gas消耗的理论上限,创建时指定,由父区块GasUsed和GasLimit计算得出。
   GasUsed,区块内所有Transaction执行时消耗的Gas总和。
   Time,当前时间戳。
   Nonce,随机数Nonce值。
  有关叔区块:
  叔区块,即孤立的块。以太坊成块速度较快,导致产生孤块。
  以太坊会给发现孤块的矿工以回报,激励矿工在新块中引用孤块,引用孤块使主链更重。在以太坊中,主链是指最重的链。
  有关 state Trie、tx Trie和Receipt Trie:
   state Trie,所有账户对象可以逐个插入一个Merkle-PatricaTrie(MPT)结构中,形成state Trie。
   tx Trie:Block中Transactions中所有tx对象,逐个插入MPT结构中,形成tx Trie。
   Receipt Trie:Block中所有Transaction执行后生成Receipt数组,所有Receipt逐个插入MPT结构中,形成Receipt Trie。
   Body成员如下:
   Transactions,交易列表。
   Uncles,引用的叔区块列表。

三:以太坊 Pow算法原理
  以太坊 Pow算法可以表示为如下公式:
   RAND(h, n) <= M / d
  其中 RAND()表示一个概念函数,代表一系列的复杂运算。
  其中 h和n为输入,即区块Header的哈希、以及Header中的Nonce。
   M表示一个极大的数,此处使用2^256-1。
   d,为区块难度,即Header中的Difficulty。
  因此在 h和n确定的情况下,d越大,挖矿难度越大,即为Difficulty本义。
  即不断变更 Nonce,使RAND(h, n)满足RAND(h, n) <= M / d,即完成Pow。

四:以太坊挖矿难度计算
  以太坊每次挖矿均需计算当前区块难度。
  按版本不同有三种计算难度的规则,分别为: calcDifficultyByzantium(Byzantium版)、calcDifficultyHomestead(Homestead版)、calcDifficultyFrontier(Frontier版)。此处以calcDifficultyHomestead为例。
  计算难度时输入有:
   parent_timestamp:父区块时间戳
   parent_diff:父区块难度
   block_timestamp:当前区块时间戳
   block_number:当前区块的序号
  当前区块难度计算公式,即:

+ (parent_diff / 2048 * max( 1 - (block_timestamp - parent_timestamp) // 10, -99)
+ 2 ^((block_number // 100000) - 2)
  其中 //为整数除法运算符,a//b,即先计算a/b,然后取不大于a/b的最大整数。
  调整难度的目的,即为使挖矿时间保持在 10-19s期间内,如果低于10s增大挖矿难度,如果大于19s将减小难度。另外,计算出的当前区块难度不应低于以太坊创世区块难度,即131072。

###### 首先看第一个if,它的逻辑判断是如果为true,那么就关闭所有的共识规则校验,紧跟着两个if判断是只要该block的header的hash和number或者上一个header的hash和number存在链上,那么它header的共识规则校验就通过,如果都不通过,那么该区块校验失败跑出错误.如果走到最后一个return,那么就需要做一些其他额外验证

###### 该方法会去校验该区块头中的extra数据是不是比约定的参数最大值还大,如果超过,则返回错误,其次会去判断该区块是不是一个uncle区块,如果header的时间戳不符合规则则返回错误,然后根据链的配置,header的时间戳以及上一个区块计算中本次区块期待的难度,如果header的难度和期待的不一致,或header的gasLimit比最大数字还大,或已用的gas超过gasLimit,则返回错误.如果gasLimit超过预定的最大值或最小值,或header的number减去上一个block的header的number不为1,则返回错误.`seal` true,则会去校验该区块是否符合pow的工作量证明的要求(`verifySeal` 方法 ),因为私有链一般是不需要pow.最后两个if是去判断区块是否具有正确的hash,防止用户在不同的链上,以及校验块头的额外数据字段是否符合DAO硬叉规则
###### uncle block:
__eth允许旷工在挖到一个块的同时包含一组uncle block列表,主要有两个作用:__
1. 由于网络传播的延迟原因,通过奖励那些由于不是链组成区块部分而产生陈旧或孤立区块的旷工,从而减少集权激励
2. 通过增加在主链上的工作量来增加链条的安全性(在工作中,少浪费工作在陈旧的块上)

###### 该方法的第一个`case` 是根据拜占庭规则去计算新块应该具有的难度 ,第二个`case` 是根据宅基地规则去计算新块应该具有的难度 ,第三个`case` 是根据边界规则去计算难度

###### 该方法的foreach中并行挖新块,一旦停止或者找到新快,则废弃其他所有的,如果协程计算有变更,则重新调用方法

###### `target` 是目标新块的难度 ,`hashimotoFull` 方法计算出一个 hash值,如果产生的`hash` 值小于等于 `target` 的值 ,则hash难度符合要求,将符合要求的`header` 写入到 `found channel` ,并返回,否则一直循环

###### 可以看到,该方法是不断的进行sha256的hash运算,然后返回进行hash值难度的对比,如果hash的十六进制大小小于等于预定的难度,那么这个hash就是符合产块要求的
产生一个随机 seed,赋给nonce随机数,
然后进行 sha256的hash运算,如果算出的hash难度不符合目标难度,则nonce+1,继续运算

如果挖到一个新块,则将结果写到 self的return管道中
写块的方法 WriteBlockAndState
wait方法接收self.recv管道的结果,如果有结果,说明本地挖到新块了,则将新块进行存储,
并把该块放到待确认的 block判定区
miner.go/update方法,如果有新块出来,则停止挖矿进行下载同步新块,如果下载完成或失败的事件,则继续开始挖矿.

### eth共识算法分析,从本地节点挖到块开始分析
##### 首先目前生产环境上面,肯定不是以CPU的形式挖矿的,那么就是`remoteAgent` 这种形式 ,也就是矿机通过网络请求从以太的节点获取当前节点的出块任务,
然后矿机根据算出符合该块难度 hash值,提交给节点,也就是对应的以下方法.

可以看到 ,该方法会调用`verifyHeader` 方法去校验区块,如果没问题的话就通过 p2p的形式广播出去,然后调用`insertChain` 方法插入到本地的 leveldb中,插入没问题的话,会再广播一次,不过这次只会广播block的hash,
如此,通过一个对等网络 ,只要块合法,那么就会被全网采纳,其中的`verifyHeader`,`insertChain` 方法都是在 `/handler.go/NewProtocolManager` 中定义传过来的 ,所有启动的逻辑都是`handler.go/Start` 方法中 .

handle()函数针对一个新peer做了如下几件事:
握手,与对方 peer沟通己方的区块链状态
初始化一个读写通道,用以跟对方 peer相互数据传输。
注册对方 peer,存入己方peer列表;只有handle()函数退出时,才会将这个peer移除出列表。
Downloader成员注册这个新peer;Downloader会自己维护一个相邻peer列表。
调用 syncTransactions(),用当前txpool中新累计的tx对象组装成一个txsync{}对象,推送到内部通道txsyncCh。还记得Start()启动的四个函数么?
其中第四项 txsyncLoop()中用以等待txsync{}数据的通道txsyncCh,正是在这里被推入txsync{}的。
在无限循环中启动 handleMsg(),当对方peer发出任何msg时,handleMsg()可以捕捉相应类型的消息并在己方进行处理。
### eth共识算法分析,从本地节点挖到块开始分析
##### 首先目前生产环境上面,肯定不是以CPU的形式挖矿的,那么就是`remoteAgent` 这种形式 ,也就是矿机通过网络请求从以太的节点获取当前节点的出块任务,
然后矿机根据算出符合该块难度 hash值,提交给节点,也就是对应的以下方法.

可以看到 ,该方法会调用`verifyHeader` 方法去校验区块,如果没问题的话就通过 p2p的形式广播出去,然后调用`insertChain` 方法插入到本地的 leveldb中,插入没问题的话,会再广播一次,不过这次只会广播block的hash,
如此,通过一个对等网络 ,只要块合法,那么就会被全网采纳,其中的`verifyHeader`,`insertChain` 方法都是在 `/handler.go/NewProtocolManager` 中定义传过来的 ,所有启动的逻辑都是`handler.go/Start` 方法中 .

该方法设置了一个超时时间 ,底层调用了net.go的`Write(b []byte) (n int, err error)`,通过网络写给对应的节点了,然后接收端的方法为`ReadMsg`

可以看到在这边读取网络写入来的消息 ,然后根据不同的`msgCode` 作不同的处理 ,由于`handleMsg` 是在一个死循环中调用的 ,所以就能一直接收到节点广播过来的消息

handle()函数针对一个新peer做了如下几件事:
握手,与对方 peer沟通己方的区块链状态
初始化一个读写通道,用以跟对方 peer相互数据传输。
注册对方 peer,存入己方peer列表;只有handle()函数退出时,才会将这个peer移除出列表。
Downloader成员注册这个新peer;Downloader会自己维护一个相邻peer列表。
调用 syncTransactions(),用当前txpool中新累计的tx对象组装成一个txsync{}对象,推送到内部通道txsyncCh。还记得Start()启动的四个函数么?
其中第四项 txsyncLoop()中用以等待txsync{}数据的通道txsyncCh,正是在这里被推入txsync{}的。
在无限循环中启动 handleMsg(),当对方peer发出任何msg时,handleMsg()可以捕捉相应类型的消息并在己方进行处理。
六:总结
Pow算法概念简单,即工作端提交难以计算但易于验证的计算结果,其他节点通过验证这个结果来确信工作端完成了相当的工作量。
  但其缺陷也很明显: 1、随着节点将CPU挖矿升级为GPU、甚至矿机挖矿,节点数和算力已渐渐失衡;2、比特币等网络每秒需完成数百万亿次哈希计算,资源大量浪费。
  为此,业内提出了 Pow的替代者如PoS权益证明算法,即要求用户拥有一定数量的货币,才有权参与确定下一个合法区块。另外,相对拥有51%算力,购买超过半数以上的货币难度更大,也使得恶意攻击更加困难。
