Huawei wireless AP bridge (WDS) Practice

Recently two days debugging a Huawei wireless bridging small projects, and share with you some experience. For wireless bridge, before the commissioning is I know this concept, not the actual operation. Looked at before going Configuration Manual, or just a rough concept.

Field of the structure as shown below, the AP ROOT wired connection, and LEAF1, LEAF2 is bridged AP 2, and ROOT are bridged. After establishment of a tunnel to be understood that the bridge logic are connected to two AP ROOT, and then back along with the AC controller.

Before starting configuration, but also to deal with what's left in front of engineers work he put into the fat of the full AP. I need to change back to thin. First, the official website under the version of the software, and then operate according to the instructions, this time a problem, here is what I think Huawei doing very humane place, ready to step in front of an upgrade too, the key there is also the first step in upgrading a something called auxiliary upgrade package, the official website simply can not search this thing. Had no choice but to restart the AP, enter the upgrade BOOTROM similar pattern. Specific steps are as follows:

       1. Open 3CD their computer, to build a TFTP server, the directory is set up, and a computer network cable to the network port connected to AP

       2. Restart AP, keep hitting "f"

       3. Enter a password prompt appears [email protected]

       4. Enter the following commands are sequentially introduced into the version of the software AP, and then restart

ar7240> setenv ipaddr 10.144.41.1 // set address AP

ar7240> setenv serverip 10.144.41.57 // entered into the computer address

          ar7240> saveenv

          ar7240> update system FitAP5030DN-S_V200R007C20SPCf00.bin

          ar7240> reset

        5. It should be noted that, if the version is inconsistent AP and AC version introduced in the set, AP also registers and then download the version upgrade or downgrade once.

AP handover is completed, and finally to get to the the. Configuration Manual are detailed examples, I will not be repeated here, only a few points need special attention:

        1. bridge 5G channel selection, and then wrapping method 40MHZ bandwidth will increase, less interference 5G, full bandwidth capacity, both sides of the channel to be consistent

2.AP radio frequency interface may be used to establish bridged i.e., may also transmit radio signals at the same time, do not conflict

        3. Create AP group, they can configure the RF port 012, but in fact there are three RF ports are high-end AP AP, the AP site may be 0 and 1, so if the result is 2 to build bridges at all no response. 1 suggest that you use, this is the 5G.

        4. Establish a bridge tunnel, estimated time to 10 minutes, so put something back, be patient wait for a while.

The distance between the two 5.ROOT and LEAF is not too far, 100M should be the limit, in the middle do not have something to cover.

        Finally made about the configuration

security-profile name ROOT1 // security template, check for keys when creating a bridge tunnel

  security wpa2 psk pass-phrase %^%#\\H52N2O'A~#v\==>@71GJE%,Lig|#J\p:C6XpT8%^%# aes

wds-whitelist-profile name wds-a // whitelist, MAC in the list in order to establish a tunnel with ROOT

  peer-ap mac 2028-3e17-XXXX

  peer-ap mac 446a-2e18-XXXX

wds-profile name LEAF1 // LEAF tunnel template used

  security-profile ROOT1

wds-profile name ROOT1 // tunnel template to use ROOT

  security-profile ROOT1

  wds-mode root

ap-group name LEAF1 // AP group configuration of LEAF

  radio 0

   VAP-profile cacy wlan-SIMS 2

  radio 1

   VAP-profile cacy wlan-SIMS 2

   wds-profile LEAF1

   channel 40mhz-plus 157

ap-group name ROOT1 // ROOT group configuration of the AP

  radio 0

   VAP-profile cacy wlan-SIMS 2

  radio 1

   VAP-profile cacy wlan-SIMS 2

   wds-profile ROOT1

   wds-whitelist-profile wds-b

   channel 40mhz-plus 157

Finally, the designated AP to the AP in the corresponding group. It will automatically create a bridge tunnel after the device starts.
