1. Introduction to CiteSpace features

CiteSpace is a visualization tool for analyzing academic literature, designed to help researchers understand the evolution of academic fields and discover research hot spots and trends.

2. CiteSpace installation tutorial

1. Install java

Go here Java Downloads | Oracle to install the Windows x64 version, which depends on your computer.

Just double-click to run it. However, it should be noted that the installation path can be selected other than the C drive. The path must be remembered. For example, the location I installed below is  D:\software\document\java\jdk-21 .

2. Configure java environment variables

Turn on environment variables

Select Path in system variables.

Add the bin file path to the location we just downloaded.

Finally open cmd and enter java.

If the above content appears roughly, it means there is no problem.

3. Install CiteSpace

CiteSpace - Browse Files at SourceForge.net

Install the latest version of CiteSpace here. Then move the files into the new folder.

Double-click to run this file

Change the installation path. 

Click Download and wait for the installation to complete. 

4. Run CiteSpace

Double-click the icon that appears on the running computer. Please wait for a while because it is initializing. Click Agree when the following page appears.

 

Then enter the following page, indicating successful installation.
