Ubuntu 23.04 will end support on January 25, 2024

Official support for Ubuntu 23.04 "Lunar Lobster" will end on January 25, 2024, with less than a month left.

Ubuntu 23.04 will be officially released in April 2023 and will be supported for 9 months as a short-term support version. Users who are still using this version are advised to consider upgrading to Ubuntu 23.10 "Mantic Minotaur" released in October to ensure that they can continue to receive security patches, critical bug fixes and important updates to selected software from Canonical.

Ubuntu 23.10 ships with the latest GNOME 45 version (which contains a lot of improvements), uses the Linux 6.5 kernel, updated graphics drivers, and debuts 2 brand new applications that are currently exclusive to this version : App Center and firmware.

Also as a short-term support version, Ubuntu 23.10 is scheduled to reach EOL in mid-July 2024. However, it is expected that the Ubuntu 24.04 LTS version will be officially released in late April next year . The LTS version will receive security updates, bug fixes and selected application updates for 5 years; the LTS version is expected to be released every 2 years.
