Metagenomics/microbiome is one of the most popular research fields in scientific research in the world today. In order to strengthen the exchange and dissemination of metagenomics technology and results and promote the development of the global Chinese microbiome field, young researchers from the Chinese Academy of Sciences created the "Metagenomic" public account, and jointly Colleagues inside and outside work together to create a platform for exchange of pure technology and ideas in this field.

The public account is pushed every day, sharing the latest results, scientific research ideas, experiments and analysis techniques in the field of metagenomics on weekdays, with strong theoretical knowledge and strong practical skills; weekend science popularization and life columns make it easy to read articles and watch movies. Currently, 3,200+ original articles are shared, and 160,000+ friends communicate and learn together here, with a cumulative reading of over 40 million+.

The public account co-founded a new journal "iMeta" with a high starting point for metagenomics, microbiome and biological information. It is an open access journal co-published by Wili, the Enterobacteriaceae Branch and hundreds of Chinese scientists in this field. The editor-in-chief is Researcher Liu Shuangjiang from the Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Professor Fu Jingyuan from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands are jointly responsible. The goal is to publish the top 10% (IF > 15) of high-impact papers. For details, see: iMeta’s inaugural promotional video. Published the first monograph in this field, "Microbiome Experiment Manual", which was written with the participation of 352 colleagues in the field. It is free and open source and continuously updated. For details, see125 units jointly completed the "Microbiome Experiment Manual" (Microbiome Protocol eBook) 1st Edition》. Founded iMeta, the world’s first microbiome and bioinformatics journal with a high starting point.

In order to encourage readers to communicate and quickly solve scientific research difficulties, we have established a professional discussion group on "metagenomics". Currently, 6,000+ front-line scientific researchers at home and abroad have joined. To participate in discussions and get professional answers, please share this article to your circle of friends and scan the QR code to add editor friends to join the group. Be sure to note "name-unit-research direction-professional title/grade". PI please indicate your identity clearly. There are also microbial-related PI groups at home and abroad for cooperation and communication. To seek help with technical issues, first read"How to Ask Elegantly" to learn ideas for solving problems. Discussions in the group are still unresolved. Questions should not be chatted privately, but help peers. .
