TDengine is listed on BenchCouncil's world's first open source contribution list

Recently, the Bench Council (International Testing Committee) announced the "world's first open source contribution list", which is known as "only based on contribution." It is worth mentioning that Taosi Data and TDengine  are on the list of open source computer system institutions and achievements released by BenchCouncil, and TDengine founder & core developer Jeff Tao has also been selected for the open source system contribution list.

It is understood that the list was compiled by BenchCouncil (International Testing Committee), which invited a number of independent scientists to select 145 representative achievements from the 1960s to the present or those that have had an important impact on open source. Based on the main contributors, the 50-year achievement list, organization list, and talent list in the open source field are produced. Among them, a total of 264 people entered the talent list, 24 Chinese were on the list, and Tao Jianhui was one of them.

In the achievement list and institution list, there are 8 domestic institutions on the list. Among them, Taosi Data is on the list for its high-performance time series database  TDengine, Baidu is on the list for its deep learning framework PaddlePaddle , PingCAP is on the list for its TiDB database, and the Institute of Computing Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences is on the list. Beijing Open Source Chip Research Institute is on the list for its open source RISC-V processor Xiangshan series, Alibaba and Pingtouge Semiconductor are on the list for its open source RISC-V processor Xuantie series, and the Institute of Software of the Chinese Academy of Sciences is on the list for its OpenBLAS linear algebra library, Shanghai. New York University is on the list for its contribution to the deep learning framework MXNet.

As we all know, the Time Series Database ( TSDB ) TDengine developed by Taosi Data has been open source as early as 2019. Currently, the number of stars on GitHub has reached 22.2k, and it has been ranked first on the GitHub global trend list many times. It is famous and has attracted widespread attention from many developers at home and abroad. With the power of open source, the number of TDengine user instances worldwide has exceeded 422.6k, distributed in multiple industries including finance, logistics, automobiles, e-commerce, smart energy, and smart agriculture. Being selected into the world's first open source contribution list is also a major support and encouragement that TDengine has received on the road to open source.
