Over 700 employees of OpenAI signed a joint letter calling for the collective resignation of the board of directors

According to statistics from the New York Times and other media, at least 743 OpenAI employees have signed a joint letter forcing the board of directors to resign collectively, while reinstating Sam Altman and Greg Brockman's positions on the board. Otherwise, all the signers will collectively switch to Microsoft , and the number is continuing to increase (last night there were only about 500 people).

Unexpectedly, Ilya Sutskever, the chief scientist who is considered the organizer of OpenAI’s “coup”, also signed the joint letter. Prior to this, Ilya Sutskever tweeted :

"I deeply regret my involvement in the board's actions. I never meant to harm OpenAI. I love everything we have built together and I will do whatever it takes to bring the company back together."

Meanwhile, multiple sources told The Verge that Sam Altman and co-founder Greg Brockman are still willing to return to OpenAI if the remaining board members who fired him step down.

Public information shows that OpenAI has 770 employees, and these "forced" people account for more than 96% of the total number of employees.
