Unity announced at Unite 2023 held today that a major version update, Unity 6 , will be released in 2024 and said it will be the next long-term support version (LTS).
Unity demonstrated the new Unity 6 engine at the conference and demonstrated it through the "Fantasy Kingdom" Demo produced by Syncy Studios using Unity 6, emphasizing the performance and graphics improvements of Unity 6.
Unity claims that Unity 6 will bring significant performance enhancements, faster creation of multiplayer games, and deeper support for XR devices. It also unlocks support for new rendering features, enabling higher levels of graphical fidelity.

The AI tool mentioned by Untiy is Sentis, which allows developers to import AI models while Unity is running to create AI-based NPCs. What’s unique about Sentis is that the AI model ultimately runs locally on the user’s device and does not require developers to configure additional cloud servers.
Unity 6 will also bring initial support for the new WebGPU graphics backend. Starting with Unity 6, players will be able to run Unity games anywhere on the network, including within native applications or in a web view within the browser.
