We can also use Synology's Drive suite to cooperate with cpolar, allowing users to access Synology Drive located in the office or home on other networks (non-office LAN) to achieve remote collaboration. 1. Installation of Synology Drive suite
Synology's Synology Drive suite is a cross-platform data synchronization software. Data is always stored on Synology's hard drive, but designated users are allowed to edit and modify files. This ensures the security of data files and can also achieve multi-department For collaborative working (or remote access to a home cluster).
1.1 Install Synology Drive package
We open Synology's package center, enter it in the search box drive, find the Synology Drive package, click the button below 安装套件, and then 下一步wait for the installation to complete.
After the Synology Drive package is installed, you can find the Synology Drive package icon in the Synology main menu. Since the Synology Drive suite does not automatically turn on the document sharing function, we need to set it up, and this also allows us to choose which files can be shared.
1.2 Set up Synology Drive package
Click the button above the main interface of Synology 主菜单to see shortcuts to installed packages.
Find Synology Drive控制台the shortcut named and click to enter the management console of Synology Drive.
On the left side of the main interface of Synology Drive's management console, click 团队文件夹Options to see 我的文件the option named.
At this point we can see that 我的文件the option has not enabled the home directory and remote access is not possible. So we click on the "Enable" button at the top of the page.
After clicking 启用the button, Synology Drive will guide us to enable the user home directory service. We click the "Yes" button according to the pop-up window guidance.
The system will automatically jump to 用户组群the 高级设置page. When we scroll down to the lowest end of this page, we can see it 家目录. 启动家目录服务Check the box in front of it and click 应用the button on the lower right to open the shared file service.
After completing the above steps, the system will automatically generate homesa folder named . We can also click on the top of the page in the same way to 启用enable sharing of this folder.
After completing the settings of the Synology Drive management console, we return to the main program of Synology Drive and can easily create a shared folder and put various files we want to share and edit in this folder (including various documents, photos, videos, etc.).
1.3 Testing and using computers in LAN
After completing the settings of the above steps, we can create a test folder as a shared folder, or create a shared file in this folder for allowed visitors to view.
The way to create a folder is to click the "Create" button at the top of the page and name it in the pop-up folder editing window.
Then click on this folder, drag a file here, and the upload of the file is completed.
After completing the upload of the test document, we can select the test file, click the 链接button at the top of the page to generate a local area network accessible connection, and view the file.
Of course, we can also download the Synology Drive Client on a LAN computer to edit and synchronize this shared document.
Click the prompt box on the lower right side of Synology Drive, download a Synology Drive Client, and install it according to the installation instructions to achieve sharing and synchronization of shared files under the same LAN.
After starting to install Synology Drive Client, you need to make several basic settings, mainly to guide Synology Drive Client to find the shared Synology Drive. This includes setting the address of Synology NAS on the LAN, which user to log in as, scheduled tasks for files (such as real-time synchronization or regular backup), and backup and shared file storage locations.
After the Synology Drive Client is set up and successfully connected, we can see the client-related information in the Synology Drive management console.
I believe everyone has noticed that Synology Drive at this time can only be accessed by devices under the same LAN. If you want to access it from devices outside the local LAN, you need the assistance of cpolar.
Next, we continue to install and set up cpolar on Synology NAS so that Synology Drive can use cpolar to penetrate intranet restrictions and access files shared by Synology Drive under public Internet conditions.
2. Use cpolar to remotely access the intranet Synology Drive
Cpolar is a simple and easy-to-use intranet penetration software. It can generate a public Internet address for the output port of Synology Drive, so that visitors on the public Internet can connect to the Synology Drive port on the local LAN through this address. (The default output port of Synology Drive is 6690), which is like opening up an efficient, secure and confidential data tunnel directly between the LAN and the Internet (only if you send this address to others, others will know it, and outsiders will not know the existence of this tunnel at all) , allowing specific visitors to view our shared files and information through this data tunnel.
If you want to use cpolar, you naturally need to install the cpolar package on your Synology NAS. The installation of the cpolar package is also very simple. First log in to cpolar’s official website ( https://www.cpolar.com/ ) and click the “Download” button at the top of the page
Find the option on the cpolar download page NAS群晖and click it 立即下载.
After entering cpolar's NAS Synology download page, select the NAS Synology model and Synology system version in the drop-down menu. For example, my Synology model is DS918+ and the system version is 7.0.1. Therefore, select "DS918+" in the drop-down menu and select "7.x" for the version. After selecting the NAS Synology model, you can click 下载the button to download the corresponding version of the cpolar package.
After the download of the Cpolar package is completed, we return to the Synology system, click to enter 套件中心, and click 手动安装the button on the right. A page will appear. 上传套件Click the button here 浏览to select the location of the cpolar package we downloaded. Double-click the cpolar package. , the installation path will be automatically generated.
We only need to click all the way according to the installation prompts 下一步. If a prompt message appears, click to agree.
After the installation is completed, you can see the cpolar package on the "Installed" page, indicating that the cpolar package has been added to Synology NAS. At this time, click on cpolar, and you will see the web-UI client address of cpolar. Click this address and enter the account and password of cpolar to open the main interface of the cpolar suite in Synology NAS.
Next, we need to set up cpolar so that it knows the local Synology Drive port of Synology and generates the public Internet address corresponding to this port. For the convenience of operation, the author upgraded cpolar to the professional package (the professional package is cheap and large, and provides 2 fixed TCP tunnels, while the free version of the TCP tunnel changes every 24 hours), so that my shared files can be continuously and stably accessed. Visited.
2.1 Cpolar cloud settings
First log in to the cpolar cloud. After logging in, find 预留the button on the left side of the cpolar main page, click to enter 预留the page, and find it on this page 保留的TCP地址.
In 保留的TCP地址the field, we only need to make two simple settings to generate a blank TCP data tunnel. These two items are set to 地区(you can choose the nearest one at will) and 描述(can be seen as a comment on this tunnel, the author here chooses Synology drive).
After completing the setting selection, click 保留the button on the right to generate a blank TCP tunnel.
Among them, 地址the column displays the public Internet address of the TCP tunnel. We can use this address to access the Synology Drive located in the LAN. If we no longer plan to use this tunnel, we can also click the small X on the right to easily delete this tunnel.
2.2 Cpolar local settings
Next, we go back to the Synology NAS, open the cpolar software, and connect the blank data tunnel generated by the cpolar cloud to the local Synology Drive port of Synology.
Open the cpolar client locally on Synology on the left side of the main interface, find 隧道管理the "Create Tunnel" button under the item, and click to enter the tunnel creation page. On this page, we need to set several pieces of information, including the following.
- Tunnel name : The tunnel name here is displayed on the cpolar client (it has nothing to do with the tunnel name on the cpolar cloud). For the convenience of management, the author still names it Synology drive;
- Protocol : The protocols here include http, tcp, tls, ftp and dedicated NAS Synology to adapt to different tunnel applications. We choose the tcp protocol;
- Port : The dedicated output port of Synology Drive is 6690, so enter 6690 here;
- Port type : The port here is convenient for us to choose the duration of this tunnel. If it is only used temporarily, you can choose a random temporary port. But the author intends to make this tunnel exist for a long time, so I check the fixed TCP port;
- Reserved TCP address : This content box will appear after selecting the fixed TCP port. The address that needs to be filled in is the address generated by the "Reserved TCP address" on the cpolar cloud.
After completing the above settings, you can click 创建the button at the bottom of the page to generate a public Internet address for Synology Drive that can be connected. After the tunnel is created, we can find the Synology Drive tunnel in the left 状态item 在线隧道列表, and we can also see the public Internet address of the Synology Drive tunnel here.
At the same time, we can also control the opening and closing of this Synology Drive data tunnel on the "Tunnel List" page under "Tunnel Management", and edit the basic information of this tunnel.
At this point, we have successfully published Synology Drive to the public Internet through the tcp data tunnel created by cpolar. Since the public Internet address of this tunnel can only be sent by the creator to trusted people, outsiders do not know this. The existence of the data tunnel, coupled with Synology Drive's own user + password authentication method, makes the files and data shared by Synology Drive very safe.
2.3 Test and use
Finally, we can use a device located on the public Internet to try to access the Synology Drive shared files on the local Synology through the data tunnel established by cpolar.
Just like accessing Synology Drive through a local LAN, we need to enter the basic information of the Synology NAS to be connected in the Synology Drive Client. The difference is that at the Synology NAS address, we fill in the TCP address generated by cpolar, replacing the previous LAN four-segment address. To prevent errors, you need to uncheck the "Enable SSL data transmission encryption" option. After completing filling in the information, you can click "Next" to connect.
Just like connecting to Synology Drive via LAN, we only need to click "Next" all the way to configure it. After the configuration is completed, you can see that the Synology Drive Client in a non-local LAN has successfully connected to the Synology Drive in the LAN, and can freely edit and retrieve shared file data.
