01

ETH

  • The latest Ethereum core dev executive meeting decided to delay the release of Devnet #8

Ethereum core developer Tim Beiko wraps up the latest Ethereum core dev executive meeting in Discord. Among other things, the developers agree to continue using regular contracts with system-written transactions, rather than precompiled. Before Monday's test call, developers will try to: (1) agree on a deployment plan (either as part of a fork or manually before a fork); (2) agree on the first contract implementation to use; The 4788 spec submits a PR reflecting this. Once developers agree on a contract, an audit/formal verification process will be initiated.

02

BNB

  • BNB Chain releases mainnet v1.2.9, introducing Plato and Hertz hard forks

BNB Chain released the v1.2.9 version of the main network, which introduced the Plato and Hertz hard forks, which have been fully tested on the test network and are ready to be deployed on the main network. Plato is expected to be deployed on August 10th and Hertz is expected to be deployed on August 30th. BNB Chain stated that all validator nodes and full node operators on the mainnet must switch their software version to v1.2.9 by August 10, 2023.

  • The v1.2.10 version has been released, which is the maintenance version of the BSC mainnet and testnet

The v1.2.10 version is the maintenance version of the BSC mainnet and testnet. It fixes a bug in bootnode and 2 bugs in FastFinality function. It also has some enhancements to the FastFinality feature, such as less logging, proof checking, a new RPC API, and a tool to decode BlockHeader.extra. Validators are encouraged to use this version, and other full node operators can skip this version if they have already upgraded to v1.2.9.

03

Decision

  • Arbitrum has activated support for account abstraction endpoints on mainnet

Offchain Labs has officially activated support for account abstraction endpoints on Arbitrum One and Arbitrum Nova. Offchain Labs supported the endpoint on the Arbitrum testnet after the previous AIP-2 proposal for support for the account abstraction endpoint was passed on July 17.

04

SUI

  • The Sui mainnet is upgraded to version V1.6.3, including the update of the liquidity staking function

The Sui mainnet has now been upgraded to version V1.6.3, which includes a number of fixes and optimizations. Upgrade points include: adding linter warnings, choosing to ignore linter warnings, warnings no longer prevent tests from running, adding a new filter TransactionKindIn, and linters encouraging developers to return objects from functions. In addition, this version includes the update of the liquidity staking function of the SIP No. 6 improvement proposal. It is recommended that all nodes complete the update as soon as possible to avoid service failures.

05

Shiba Inu

  • Shiba Inu Developer: Ecological projects will prioritize the deployment of digital identity verification

The Shiba Inu ecosystem will link applications in the ecosystem with blockchain-based digital identities. Shiba Inu developers said they have been working with the community to ensure that projects using SHIB or planning to build on the Shibarium blockchain are prioritized for deployment of SSI (Self-Sovereign Identity, which is a digital variant of identity documents such as passports and driver's licenses). Shiba Inu's Layer 2 solution, Shibarium, is expected to go live later this month.

06

Base

  • The Base mainnet will open on August 9th, and the bridge function is now live

The Layer 2 Network Base mainnet will be publicly released on August 9th for full public access. Coinbase launched the Ethereum Bridge ahead of schedule, and Base's bridge functionality is now live.

07

Apt

  • Aptos launches Move v1.4 and v1.5 versions, updates include extending the Move standard library, etc.

Aptos releases Move Framework v1.4 and v1.5. Aptos v1.4 extends the Move standard library. Updates include the addition of FixedPoint64, various math functions (exp, log, mul_div, etc.), string formatting, and additional inlining functions; in v1.5, Aptos brought the Quorum Store to mainnet, introduced a new Aptos token standard utilizing Move objects, made improvements to the tool suite, integrated a peer-to-peer monitoring service in each node, and more. Aptos says this update is designed to prepare Aptos for performance enhancements, key features, and ecosystem growth.

08

Starknet

  • Starknet will release v0.12.1 on the Goerli testnet

Starknet announced that it will release v0.12.1 on the Goerli testnet on August 7th. Starknet previously regarded v0.12.1 as the second stage of the quantum leap of the Starknet mainnet.
