Quick Facts of the Week
In the past week, the dynamics of star projects are as follows:
114th Ethereum Core Developers Consensus Meeting: Devnet #8 could launch as early as next week
Layer2 network Shibarium cross-chain bridge has been launched for public testing
Optimism launches "Law of Chains" v0.1
Sui allows developers to build liquid staking protocols through SIP#6
01 ETH
114th Ethereum Core Dev Consensus Meeting: Devnet #8 could launch as early as next week
Summary of the 114th Ethereum Core Developer Consensus Conference (ACDC): This meeting discusses the progress of Deneb testing, Devnet #8 is expected to be launched later next week or early next week. Ethereum Foundation researcher Hsiao-Wei Wang is preparing a new version of the CL code specification for Devnet #8, which will be ready for client teams by July 31st.
02 Shibarium
The Shibarium cross-chain bridge based on the Layer 2 network of Ethereum has been launched for public testing
Shibarium developers stated on their social platform that the Layer 2 network Shibarium cross-chain bridge based on Ethereum has been launched for public testing. The cross-chain bridge initially allows users to transfer testnet ETH to Shibarium, with each transfer expected to take up to 30 minutes.
03 Optimism
Optimism launches "Law of Chains" v0.1
Optimism launched "Law of Chains" to provide an open and neutral framework for participants in the OP Stack super chain ecosystem, aiming to promote the core principles of user protection, decentralization and economic autonomy. The current v0.1 version is open for community feedback. Optimism plans to officially introduce it into Optimism governance in the next quarter, as well as the initial governance process for the new chain to join the super chain ecology.
Optimism is developing the OP Stack failure proof system, including components such as error-proof programs and fail-safe virtual machines
Optimism ecological developers are developing the fault proof system of OP Stack, including components such as fault proof program (FPP), fault proof virtual machine (FPVM), Dispute Game, etc. In addition, the separation of FPP and FPVM enables the same operating program to be used in FPVM It can also run in ZKVM to help OP Stack ZKP realize ZK-based validity proof and provide support for low-latency cross-chain bridges between different networks.
04 SUI
Sui allows developers to build liquid staking protocols through SIP#6
The Sui community improved the proposal through SIP#6. The upgraded protocol allows the wrapped tokens received from the pledge to be traded, transferred, or wrapped into another object. Adding this feature will allow developers to offer liquidity staking and create applications that offer financial products using liquid collateralized tokens. The protocol upgrade to support liquid staking is live on testnet now, and it will be added to mainnet in the next upgrade, assuming all testing and compatibility issues are complete.
05 Avail
Polygon's modular blockchain project Avail has open-sourced a new prototype of the OpEVM SDK
Avail, Polygon's modular blockchain project, has open-sourced a new prototype of the Optimism EVM (OpEVM) software development kit (SDK), which developers can use to build sovereign, EVM-compatible Optimistic Rollups.
06 Public Goods Network
The Public Goods Network based on OP Stack is officially launched on the mainnet
Public Goods Network (PGN), a Layer 2 network based on OP Stack, announced its mainnet launch. Six months after network launch, PGN will evaluate and allocate fees based on accumulated data.
07 Threshold Network
The privacy network Threshold Network launched the tBTC redemption function on the main network
The privacy protocol Threshold Network announced that tBTC redemption has been launched on the main network, and BTC holders can now transfer and use BTC without restriction in the Ethereum DeFi ecosystem. Users can mint tBTC and redeem it for native BTC at any time.
08 Evmos
Cosmos ecological EVM compatible chain Evmos will launch Evmos 2.0 on August 2
Evmos, the Cosmos ecological EVM compatible chain, will launch Evmos 2.0 on August 2. The update of this version includes enabling StakeFi and IBC composability through Evmos EVM extensions, Evmos v2 token economics, and creation of future Evmos SDK chains through software licenses. Value Consistency, etc.
