Ten years at Microsoft!

Time flies, time flies.

On July 8, 2013, after I graduated from the Soft Academy of Jiaotong University next door, I officially joined Zizhu Microsoft.

So far, it has been a full 10 years.

I remember that the traffic back to the urban area in Minhang was not so congested at that time. I took the 5:30 bus to get off work, and walked all the way through S4+ Central, and I could get home at about 6:40.

Now, even if I take the 5 o'clock bus to get off work, it will be 7 o'clock when I get home.b19254077e978e4ca92bdb52ce5e26a6.png

However, the group I just graduated from was quite busy at the time. Although I basically took the shuttle bus to get off work at 5:30, after I got home, I might have to work for an hour, and sometimes I even had to work for 2 or 3 hours on weekends. .

I planned at that time, after a year or two, I was going to run away.

Fortunately, not long after I joined the company, the group at that time was reorged, and I went to a new group.

Regarding overtime, I actually wrote about it in an article two years ago:

Does Microsoft really work overtime?

You can take a look, I won't expand any more~

Ten years is not long, nor is ten years short.

There is indeed a lot I want to write, but I don't know where to start.

I can write slowly on the official account in the future~

However, I have actually written a lot of articles before, and you can go and watch them.

Of course, because of exposure to different groups, projects, people, etc., everyone's experience in a company must be different. Never generalize.

For example, the technology stack of my group is relatively diversified.

Many people may think that they all write C# at Microsoft, and people often ask me about C#. In fact, in my ten years, C# really wrote very little.

My story with VS Code:

In those years, we chased VS Code together

My work experience:

What is it like to work at Microsoft (Microsoft)?

As early as four years ago, I also reminded everyone to prepare early for possible cold weather:

Microsoft is just 18 months away from bankruptcy forever

Um! Let’s write here first about my experience at Microsoft~

Jump out of the scope of the current company and talk about others.

In the past two years, classmates or former colleagues have asked me about my future plans. My first reaction is always the plan in life, but after thinking about it, it should be my plan in the workplace.

We are always talking about work–life balance (work-life balance).

For the word WLB, I found that different people have different interpretations.

For ordinary people like us, the ultimate goal of many people's work is to live a better life.

A better life is the higher goal, don't put the cart before the horse.

Imagine if the company leaves you or a feature you have in hand, will the stock price drop or go bankrupt?

What are your real priorities?

Less introversion and less internal friction. With the improvement of productivity, I believe that one day, the 955.WLB repo will be launched on the stage of history, and 944.Life will become a neutral word:

955.WLB is a neutral word! 944.Life may be regarded as "retirement", right?

We will have more free time, spend time with our families, and do things we like.2ceb059f3e4fc65593e44e11de9dfdb6.png
