Comments: I don’t know why, but I always feel that GitHub has been established for more than 10 years. Do you have this illusion?

This article is an article written by GitHub co-founder and CEO: Chris Wanstrath in Computer World Magazine .

When we look back at GitHub over the past decade, we don't think about a single piece of software, but about how people have changed with GitHub.

Ten years ago, GitHub was officially launched. The original intention is simple: to connect developers and make projects better with Git. Over the past ten years, we have grown into a company and a platform, but our original intention has never changed. It's not a great idea or something big that makes this platform special, it's the people who use it, thank you GitHub for ten years, and thank you.

When we look back over the past ten years, we don't remember one piece of software, but what people did with GitHub. GitHub is used around the world to share, teach, tinker, and build. When we first launched GitHub, we had absolutely no idea that it would grow to such a size, with so many contributions and connections.

Going forward, we will keep it simple. The future is in your hands and you define it. We would like to follow you.

In the meantime, thank you for your code, your merges, your documentation, the projects you share, and everything you do on GitHub.

Thank you, 10 years.

We've rounded up some of the milestones from this decade, and today, on this special day, let's look back. Not ready for the next decade.

How many of us has GitHub helped over the past 10 years? How many people share and open source code on it? Thanks to all givers. Everyone is welcome to leave a comment about the help or interesting things GitHub has brought to you. In addition, what year did you all join? It's faster to leave a message than to see who joined.
