Recently, the 2023 Summer Plenary Meeting of the Open Data Center Committee (ODCC) was successfully held in Yantai, Shandong. As a member unit, iLink was invited to attend and delivered a keynote speech at the working meeting of the new testing group. At the meeting, ODCC's new technical expert group Huacai made an appearance, and Yilian experts were selected as members of the technical expert group.
In this plenary meeting, six working groups including New Technology and Testing Working Group, Server Working Group, Edge Computing Working Group, Network Working Group, Intelligent Operation Working Group, and Data Center Facilities Working Group held working group meetings respectively. Promote the research progress and results sharing of various projects.
In the meeting of the new technology and testing working group on the 27th, experts from Memlink first gave a special speech on the white paper on SR-IOV testing of storage components characteristics. This project was initiated by Memlink and jointly developed and tested by Samsung, Dapuwei and Inspur. SR-IOV technology is one of the important solutions for building a green and low-carbon cloud data center by virtue of its high flexibility and the advantages of saving virtualized business computing power. Currently, for SR-IOV feature testing, each Internet vendor has its own set of testing procedures and methods, with different testing priorities and lack of unified operating specifications and criteria. This project can standardize the verification of SR-IOV characteristics and standardize the discrimination.
At the meeting, experts from Memlink also delivered a special speech on the storage delay project. Experts pointed out that the delay of storage components is a technical point of great concern in current data center applications. Currently, in the data center industry, there is no test rule for system delay caused by hard drives and SSDs. Therefore, the goal of this project is to visualize delay events, locate problematic hosts and storage components, and capture detailed event information that can help solve problems at the moment of problem occurrence, so as to ensure smooth operation of data center services. Reduce the occurrence of serious failures.
In the plenary meeting held on the 28th, ODCC's new technical expert group Huacai made an appearance. In order to give full play to the role of experts in the field of data centers and better carry out research and promotion in various professional technical fields, experts from Yilian have become one of the 19 ODCC technical experts selected this time through the process of registration, screening, and review.
