How to use Leangoo agile tool to manage Sprint Backlog

What is a Sprint Backlog?

Sprint Backlog is one of the main artifacts of Scrum. In Scrum, the team works in iterations, and each iteration is called a Sprint. Before the start of Sprint, PO will prepare the product Backlog, and the prepared Product Backlog should be combed, estimated and prioritized.

At the beginning of the Sprint, the first thing is the Sprint planning meeting. In the Sprint planning meeting, the PO and the team determine the Sprint goals and the user stories that need to be completed to achieve the Sprint goals. Then the team conducts preliminary design and task decomposition on these user stories to get a Complete the list of tasks for these user stories, this list is what we call the Sprint Backlog.

The Sprint Backlog looks like the image below:

Managing the Sprint Backlog is the daily work of the team. Visual, easy-to-operate management methods can help the team improve collaboration efficiency and make the team's work progress more transparent, while overweight management tools will become a burden on the team.

How to use Leangoo to manage Sprint Backlog

Using the Leangoo agile tool to manage the Sprint Backlog is very simple, it only takes three steps, and then create a Sprint Backlog.

Step 1: Create a Kanban Board

Create a new kanban in the project and write the Kanban name for it, so that we have created a Sprint Backlog Kanban.

The default Sprint cycle is 2 weeks. You can also directly click on the Kanban cycle to modify the sprint week.

Step Two: Create a List and Add Cards to the Board

If you create a kanban board with a template, the system will automatically create a sprint list for you, and you only need to add task cards

If you do not use template creation, we need to create lists for blank kanban boards, which are: user stories, to-do, in progress, and completed. List names are customizable.

Next, add task cards directly to the list. The Sprint backlog after adding the card is shown in the figure below:

Step 3: Add members to Kanban for task collaboration

After creating the sprint kanban, we can add members to the kanban; only members added to the kanban can see the kanban and operate on the kanban.

Click "Member" on the right, select "Add Member", and enter the member's email address to add (Note: If the member has registered as a leangoo user, he will directly join the Kanban board, and the member will receive a notification; if the member has not registered, An invitation will be sent to him, and a username and password will be generated)

You can also invite members through links, import members from your address book, and import members from other boards. If the board belongs to a certain project, members can also be imported from the project. There are five ways to add members in total!

After adding a member to the board, drag and drop the member's avatar to add the member to the card.

After the above three steps, the team can start to use Leangoo for Sprint Backlog Kanban collaboration, which is very simple.

In order to make the Leangoo Agile Kanban achieve the same visualization effect as a whiteboard, the team can consider using a large monitor or a large touch-screen TV to visualize the Leangoo Kanban and place it next to the team.
