1. Turn off all anti-virus software on the computer, including the security center and firewall that comes with Windows.
(1) Security Center Temporary Closure Act
Shortcut key Win+i to open the Windows settings interface; click the "Update and Security" option.
Go to "Windows Security Center" on the left, double-click to open the "Virus and threat protection" option.
In the Virus & threat protection section, find "Administrative settings".
Just turn off all protections ("real-time protection", "protection provided by the cloud", "automatic sample submission") temporarily~
(2) Group policy disabled
Press win+R to enter the cmd command input window; enter the group policy command "gpedit.msc", and click OK.
Click to open [Local Computer Configuration] - [Administrative Templates] - [Windows Components] - [Windows Defender Antivirus]; double-click the "Turn off Microsoft Defender Antivirus" option on the right to open it and select Enable.
(3) Firewall closed (omitted)
(4) Quit third-party anti-virus software or 360, computer housekeeper and other security software (omitted)
2. Registry cleaning:
win+R, enter regedit to enter the registry editor
Go to HKEY_LACAOL_MACHINE\software\ in turn, find the VMware.Inc file and right-click to delete it
3. Restart the computer
(If you do not restart the file in Part 4, it will prompt that it is occupied and cannot be deleted.)

4. Enter the C drive folder, C:\Windows\System32\drivers, find and delete the hcmon.sys file.
(I couldn't delete it for the first time, but I can delete it after restarting the computer)
5. Download the latest vmware version from the official website

(I also encountered this problem today. It was useless to delete the traces of vmware installation according to the method on the Internet. Finally, I went to the official website to download the latest version of vmware workstation16 before installing it.)
6. The installation directory defaults to the C drive directory.
(It means that if you try the D drive many times, the installation will fail again. Don’t struggle, all environmental software, just go directly to the C drive~experience~)
