Modify the path of the default AppData (pro-test, useless)
Under the user directory of the C disk , the AppData folder mainly occupies the largest space, and with subsequent use, the space will become larger and larger. Therefore, after the system is installed, you can change this directory to other disks first to reduce the size of the C disk. Disk occupation;
the original AppData is placed in C:\Users\anchenliang\AppData
the path by default, I hope to change this path toE:\AppCache\System\AppData
1. First create a new folder on the E disk to store
the new folder path:E:\AppCache\System\AppData
2. Modify the registry
Win+R, enter regedit, open the registry editor:
2. Back up the registry with the "Export" function in the "File" drop-down menu, just in case;
3. Open the left window in turn:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders
4. In the right window, the "name" you see represents those special folders, and the "data" is their corresponding default storage path. Modify the default path to move your desktop folder;
5. AppData application data directory C:\Documents and Settings\User name\Application Data;
6. Modify the path corresponding to AppData to your custom place (such as E:\AppCache\System\AppData);
7. Then copy all the data in the original AppData directory, and finally restart the computer. (Some data may not be copied, just skip it, but according to my test, there is no problem so far, but the UI of some interfaces needs to be reloaded);
8. Finally, record the size of the old App Data directory and the new AppData directory, and see how the size of the two folders changes after a while; normally, the old size remains the same, and the new one gets bigger and bigger. is right;
