High-speed rail model and high-speed train number

Know the model of China's high-speed rail

What does the CRH on the front of the car mean? Unlike automobiles, EMUs do not have the car logo "embedded" on the front of the car, so CRH is not the production brand of EMUs, but the abbreviation of China Railway High-speed, namely "CRH EMUs". It is a new type of train with its own power in the carriages. The power is distributed. At present, the CRH EMUs operated by China Railway include CRH1, CRH2, CRH3 and other series, which were uniformly named "Harmony" by the former Ministry of Railways.

Model introduction:

1. BST Qingdao Bombardier Sifang CRH1 platform

Summary: For the EMU model at this stage of technology introduction: CRH stands for China Railway Highspped Harmony EMU train; after that:

The first digit represents the technology platform: 1 represents Bombardier in Canada, 2 represents the Federation of Japanese Enterprises, 3 represents Siemens in Germany, and 5 represents Alstom in France;

The second letter represents the type of train: A stands for 8-carriage train, B stands for 16-carriage train, C stands for 300km/h speed class train, E stands for dynamic sleeper train, G stands for alpine train. Example: CRH2A stands for 8-car (A) train with a technology platform (2) provided by the Japan Confederation of Enterprises. Why is there no 5B in CRH5 series? Because there were many problems in the early stage of 5A operation, the development of 5B was not continued (engineers were busy treating donkeys). Why is there no 3B in CRH3 series? Because at the beginning, Siemens asked for a lot of prices, and directly failed to win the bid for the procurement of the 200km/h speed class. Siemens only joined in the bidding for the 300km/h speed class later. Therefore, the CRH3 series first had 3C and then 3A. Later, with the development of new models, there was no need to develop 3B.

Learn train numbers

Classification of high-speed rail

Letter code T, D, K, Z, K, A, etc., this is the initial letter of the train number, indicating the nature of the train.

G - high-speed rail, the train speed can reach 250-300 kilometers per hour, and it runs on high-speed rail and intercity rail lines.

D - high-speed EMU, the speed can generally reach 200-250 kilometers per hour.

T-Express, the train generally only stops at provincial capital cities or large local cities during the journey.

K - Express train. Generally, they only stop at prefecture-level administrative centers or important county-level administrative centers.

Z - direct train The train does not stop at one station or stops at one stop during the itinerary, but does not handle passenger transport business.

L - Temporary bus. This type of train is only operated when needed, and the type of train is also the most miscellaneous type of train. A small number of trains in the L series are equivalent to express trains, most of them are equivalent to ordinary express trains, and some are equivalent to regular passenger trains.

A - Linke on demand. These trains have a lower status than the L-series, but most of the features are similar to those of the L-series.

The difference between high-speed rail and motor vehicles

EMUs and high-speed rails are essentially EMUs, but the speed is different. The speed of EMUs is about 200-250 kilometers, and the speed of high-speed rails is about 300-350 kilometers.

In addition, EMUs can run on existing lines (the signaling system of ordinary EMUs is compatible with existing lines), while high-speed trains must run on newly built passenger trains (the signaling system of high-speed EMUs is not compatible with existing lines).

High-speed rail is the EMU, but in China, the line that the EMU runs at a speed of more than 300 per hour is called high-speed rail or high-speed railway.

At present, there are CRH1, CRH2, CRH3, and CRH5 EMUs in China, and CRH2C and CRH3 EMUs for high-speed rail.

EMUs are high-speed trains that have undergone certain technical transformations on existing railway lines to increase the speed. The lines operated by the high-speed railway are all newly-built railways, and their design speed is generally above 250 km/h. They are exclusive lines and do not run ordinary trains.

This chapter mainly classifies and summarizes the arrival directions of trains G1~G98 (no sections G99 and G100), and indicates the time of departure and arrival, the route, the vehicle type, the responsible road bureau, the passenger section, and the total mileage.

Uplink and downlink of high-speed trains: In order to facilitate the internal scheduling of the railway, it is stipulated that the trip to Beijing is called uplink, and the number of trains is double. For example: Shanghai-Shenyang high-speed rail 1258, the Shanghai-Tianjin section can be understood as going up to Beijing, and the number of trains is double, 1258; the direction of Tianjin to Shenyang can be understood as Beijing’s outbound, it is down, the number of trains is single, 1255.
