Among them, a software engineer earned the highest base salary of $718,000 last year, making it the company's highest-paid position.
The table contains information on more than 12,000 of Google's U.S. employees in 2022, covering a range of roles , including software engineers, business analysts and salespeople . According to the report, the income of Google employees is not limited to base salary, but also includes equity and bonuses. In 2022, the maximum equity a software engineer can receive is $1.5 million. While software engineers have the highest base salaries, maximum equity and bonuses, the top 10 highest-paying jobs in engineering, business and sales all have top base salaries well in excess of six figures.
Compared to other tech giants, Google's median base salary in 2022 is behind Meta ($296,320) but well ahead of Salesforce ($199,130) and Adobe ($170,679), according to data collected by MyLogIQ and a Wall Street Journal analysis .

The one software engineer with a base salary of $718,000 is a Level 7 employee at Google, and most software engineers in the table earn between $100,000 and $375,000 a year.
