[New Wisdom Introduction] How much money can I earn a year working for Jack Ma in the United States? Recently, some foreign media disclosed the public salary data released by Ali to the US Department of Labor, and the basic salary of engineers is up to 240,000 US dollars.
Chinese tech giant Alibaba is perhaps best known for its colorful billionaire founder Jack Ma, whose net worth is estimated to be close to $40 billion.
Alibaba is a sprawling business akin to an American tech giant. Its main site, Alibaba.com, is similar to Amazon—you can browse countless bargains, including consumer electronics, auto parts, clothing, and many other categories.
Its other e-commerce businesses include Taobao, a consumer shopping platform for China, and Tmall, a local sales platform, and AliExpress, a popular Ebay-like site.
The dual-listed company also invests in start-ups, and it owns a stake in Ant Group, owner of Alipay, China's largest mobile payment system. The company is also investing heavily in artificial intelligence.
Alibaba is a large employer worldwide, and the company is still expanding.
According to the 2022 interim report, as of September 2021, Alibaba has more than 258,578 employees worldwide. The company's revenue from overseas is substantial, with at least 60 open jobs listed on its website in California, Seattle and New York City.
How much can you expect to get paid if you work for Alibaba in the US?
The company does not publicly disclose wage data, but U.S. law requires its U.S. subsidiaries to disclose, like other U.S. companies, how much it plans to pay visa workers they hire.
Business Insider analyzed publicly available salary data for 2021 to see how much Alibaba is willing to pay for talent hired to the United States.
Last year, Alibaba sent out offers to 37 employees, mostly engineers, with base salaries above $100,000 for most positions.
It should be noted that these salary figures only include base salary, do not include additional stock option awards and bonuses, and do not represent the salary levels of all Ali employees in the United States, including only those opportunities for workers on visas.
