range indicator

A range indicator is a method of displaying the extent of a data frame within another data frame. Range indicators are dynamic.
The extent indicator updates automatically whenever the extent of the associated data frame (main map or locator map) changes. The range indicator is also updated when you rotate
the data or change the projection. Extent indicators work only if you have
a map that contains at least two data frames, where the extent of one data frame is completely within the extent of the other data frame. The larger data frame
is the locator map. The data frame with a smaller extent is the main map.
