Use Arcgis to obtain national geological data for free

Free use of national geological data with Arcgis

Today is the era of big data concurrency, and it is also the era of data openness. The National Geological Archives has released a large amount of geological data for public use. Today I am here to teach you how to use free data to help us work.

Address of National Geological Archives:
http://www.ngac.org.cn

National Digital Geological Archives:
http://data.ngac.org.cn/arcgis/geoonline/viewer/index.html

The above two URLs are websites that we can easily open in China. Since the development of these two websites is based on the Arcgis platform, and the published data are all released by WMST services, of course we can use them on the website. Free browsing on the Internet, but for us geologists, what we want to do more is how to apply these data and make certain modifications on this basis.

So next, I will explain how to apply these map data to finally achieve the following effects, which is convenient for us to query on the client and even draw our own area of interest on the basis of this map to export pictures (.jpg).

1. First of all, you need to install the Arcgis client version 10.0 or above. The current version has reached version 10.7. Version 10.2 is recommended here, which is currently more popular.
Here is a download address for everyone:

Extraction code:

2. Open the National Digital Geological Archives

Find the basic data service -- mineral distribution 2019.
We open this link and find the following content.

The base map is ChinaOnlineStreetColor
URL: https://map.geoq.cn/ArcGIS/rest/services/ChinaOnlineCommunity/MapServer

The business layer is orefield20196
URL: http://219.142.81.85/arcgis/rest/services/orefield20196/MapServer

Here we don't do any operations, just remember these basic layers and operational layers.

3. Add GIS server

Open our arcmap, in the data directory, we find the path as shown in the figure below

GIS Server--Add ArcGIS Server--Use GIS Services

Add the business layer service and the basic data service twice, only need to fill in the path, no need to fill in the user name and password

Operational layer services:

http://219.142.81.85/arcgis/services

Basic data service:

https://map.geoq.cn/ArcGIS/services

These two data services for everyone load all the map data services of the National Geological Database into Arcgis.

4. Differentiate data and cite

In this step we need to rename our two data services for everyone to know.

"ArcGIS on map.geoq.cn (user)" was renamed to "basic data layer library" which contained the basic topographic map of China
"arcgis on 219.142.81.85 (user) was renamed to "business data layer library" which contained All related address data results in China.

When we open each data, we will see that there are many data. At the beginning, we don’t know which one to reference. Don’t worry. Do you remember the two layers in the second step? Find the corresponding layer. Drag and drop into the view, and there you have it. The result we need.

Let's take a look at the effect of the graph

Putting it in ARCGIS, we can query on this basis.

query function

It should be noted here that all the coordinate systems have been declassified to a certain extent, and can only be used as the root cause for drawing, but it cannot be used as a strict positioning tool.
