1. The modified standard parts will be restored after the assembly is saved

Problem Description:

After modifying the standard part, it is inserted into the assembly, but when we save and exit the assembly, when we open it again, we find that the modified standard part is automatically replaced with the original standard part.

Solution:

Open [ Tools-Options ], find [ Heterosexual Hole Wizard/Toolbox ], uncheck [ Set this folder as the default search location for Toolbox components ], reopen the assembly, and you can see that the modified parts are correct. assembled

2. How to modify the size of Toolbox standard parts after calling them

Problem Description:

In Solidworks drawing assembly, standard parts are often called, but sometimes during assembly, it is found that the size of the standard part is not suitable and needs to be modified. I don't want to regenerate the parts and re-match them, but want to directly modify the existing parts.

Solution:

In the assembly, [ right click ] the standard part that needs to be modified, and select [ Edit Toolbox Components ] to modify its parameters. (Toolbox plug-in needs to be loaded in advance)

3. The assembly model is gray / the appearance of the part cannot be modified / the transparency cannot be adjusted

Problem Description:

I encountered a new bug. When I exported the assembly as a drawing, I went back to the assembly interface and found that all the colors of the model were lost, and the overall appearance turned gray. No matter how I modified the appearance of the model or the transparency of the model, I couldn’t afford it. effect.

Solution:

My problem was that the assembly somehow added dozens of white appearances .

Open [DisplayManager -> Appearance] on the left side of the interface, you can see that there are dozens of white under the appearance (here I have deleted all of them). Select the first one, hold down shift, select the last one, and press the delete key to delete all the colors. At this time, you can change the appearance.

If you feel that the color is still gray, you can go to [Scenery, Light Source and Camera], right-click each light source and choose to open it in solidworks. After opening all light sources, the general color will return to normal.

4. How to load Q235 and other materials

Problem Description:

When configuring the specified material of a part in solidworks, you will find that some materials, such as Q235, cannot be found in the solidworks standard material library.

Solution:

We need to load the GB material library ourselves. Download the file below, unzip the file, and put it in any directory (it is recommended to put it in the Solidworks installation directory for easy management)
